Key specs
After a long hiatus, which was caused by a crash of the test setup, I am back again with CPU cooler reviews. Today I will focus on the ARGB version of the Fera 5 cooler from SPC. The Fera 5 cooler performed well beyond expectations in the tests and offered an interesting price/performance ratio. However, the ARGB version is equipped with a slightly different fan, so the cooler needs to be tortured again on a hot CPU and have its noise level measured.
Conclusion and rating
In conclusion, let me use the hackneyed cliché about good news and bad news. The good and important news is that the SilentiumPC Fera 5 ARGB is a solid cooler with an attractive look and no major flaws. The bad news, then, is the significant increase in price and therefore a worse price-to-performance ratio. However, what I stated with the Fera 5 cooler review still holds true.
So for your money you get a compact cooler with good acoustics. As a bonus you have ARGB backlighting on the top of the cooler and fan. Installation is simple, there’s nothing major missing in the accessories and the whole thing is covered by a six-year warranty. So we can only conclude that the Fera 5 ARGB cooler is a success and wins the editorial award Approved.
