Don’t swap corners on Silent Wings (Pro) 4! You’d get worse results

This didn’t work out for BeQuiet!. The supplied mounting corners for specific uses don’t work as promised. Instead of increasing the static pressure as advertised, the corners on radiators even decrease the static pressure and thus the cooling performance. And even the case mountings, which are supposed to eliminate vibration, don’t make much sense on the Silent Wings (Pro) 4 design. The whole thing seems somehow… half-baked. Silent Wings Pro 4 (BL098) in-depth review: Hard BeQuiet! KO

All the secrets around the BeQuiet! Silent Wings (Pro) 4 are over and the detailed analyses of the sub-features begin. And it’s great that we can be a part of it. This is, after all, without a doubt, the biggest “cooling” event of the year, and it’s spicier than we thought. BeQuiet! revealed Silent Wings (Pro) 4’s airflow and static pressure

We finally have something to grab onto. Although you still can’t buy Silent Wings 4 fans, BeQuiet! has now officially released them, complete with detailed specs. This is something we’re interested in, and get this: we already have a comparison with the Noctua NF-A12x25 as well. Admittedly it’s a tricky one and we’re basing it on what BeQuiet! claims, but to set the mood for the upcoming tests it’s better than nothing. Silent Wings 3 (BL066): The best from BeQuiet!… so far

It’s heating up. We have added the first triple-A fan to the tests, which has been viewed “some way” for years, and now it will turn out how it is exactly – what are its weaknesses and what are its strengths. Some have also debated whether the Silent Wings 3 happens to be the most efficient fan ever. But as it happens, it’s a bit more complicated than a one-word answer like yes or no. Summer looks exciting, BeQuiet! prepares the Silent Wings (Pro) 4

The fourth generation of the new BeQuiet! Silent Wings fans have all the ingredients to reach the very pinnacle of efficiency. The rotor is based on the proven shape of long, distinctively curved blades. These are, moreover, very close to the frame to maximize pressure. After this parameter, you probably already think of Noctua’s “sterrox” fan, which, however, the BeQuiet! one can surpass with its typical grooves. BeQuiet! Pure Wings 2 (BL039): It wouldn’t do without the grooves

So, now we get to see what the grooves on the entire surface of the blades, which are typical of BeQuiet! fans, are worth! Judging by the geometry, we were initially concerned that the results might go in a similar direction to the Arctic BioniX F120. But it’s a lot better than that, and the 120 mm Pure Wings 2 even achieves a top price/performance ratio while running very quietly. The best of the fans tested so far. Read more “BeQuiet! Pure Wings 2 (BL039): It wouldn’t do without the grooves” »

Format it, press it. BeQuiet! showcased CPU cooler production

I’m sure many of you have a good idea of how CPU coolers are made, but it’s still worth seeing exactly how it’s done. At least when it comes to BeQuiet! coolers. The LGA 1700 kit is now included with almost all BeQuiet coolers!

Intel’s new platform (LGA 1700) has been supported by BeQuiet! coolers for a long time, but it started out on an additional accessory basis. While you could request this for free, it’s extra hassle. However, that is no longer the case with most of the company’s coolers, as the Intel LGA 1700 mounting kit has become standard. And it will soon be added in the packages where it is missing for now, too. Read more “The LGA 1700 kit is now included with almost all BeQuiet coolers!” »

What was in the puzzle photo? Sapphire RX 6900 XT Toxic LE

We may have overdone it a bit with that intensive zoom. The disproportion between your time spent on inspecting the photo and the number of correct answers was really big. However, we have the winner and the BeQuiet! fan will not stay in our editorial office. Some of you thought it could be the front panel of a PC case, as the grille in front of the fan suggested. But that was a catch, it was something different. Read more “What was in the puzzle photo? Sapphire RX 6900 XT Toxic LE” »

Giveaway: What’s in the picture? Win a fan from BeQuiet!

Back in 2019, we used to make an HWC puzzle series where we showed you a zoomed in photo of a PC component, and your role was to guess what it was. We will now return to this format, just for once. Silent Wings 3 PWM fan as a gift to one of you who comes with the correct answer. Read more “Giveaway: What’s in the picture? Win a fan from BeQuiet!” »

Test of 27 thermal compounds, part 2

The second round will be especially interesting for people who want to find the best solution for a standard use. The winner is a big surprise. Gelid, Noctua, Phobya, Reeven, SilentiumPC, Thermal Grizzly or Zalman? We can give away that it is not an expected favourite this time. We enjoyed a nice competition in the middle category, where it takes a lot to keep making a difference. We also tested OEM paste from Scythe as a bonus. Test of 27 thermal compounds, part 1

Thermal pastes can significantly affect the cooling performance, so we have compared several models that represent the current offer. Is the legendary Arctic MX-2 still a good choice? Or is it more reasonable to try newer Cooler Master and Cryorig? There is also a copper Coollaboratory to consider. Well, we have prepared some recommendations, but few warnings too because there are several products that you should rather avoid. Read more “Test of 27 thermal compounds, part 1” »
