Noctua releases bars for better cooling of AMD processors

The first time Noctua revealed the modified bars for more effective cooler contact with the chiplet-based Ryzens was just a few days ago, at Computex. The NM-AMB bars are now available in stores and Noctua is revealing more details about them. They are primarily designed for the AMD AM5 platform, but older AM4 processors are also supported. While the impact of the bars is noticeable at times, other times they’re not really worth it. Read more “Noctua releases bars for better cooling of AMD processors” »

Noctua: NH-D15 successor and AM5 coolers asymmetrically

Alongside the upcoming generation of 140mm fans, Noctua also showcased a dual-tower cooler at Computex 23 that will outperform (and perhaps later replace) the current top model, the NH-D15. We’ve kind of expected these things as they appeared on roadmaps. The big surprise were the brackets for better cooler contact with atypical chip layout on AMD Ryzen processors. With Assassin IV, DeepCool changes customs of dual-tower coolers

DeepCool wasn’t afraid to experiment and moved the intake fan to the exhaust position in their line of the most powerful tower CPU coolers (Assassin). This was done for the sake of, among other things, 100% memory compatibility, which is very rare in wide coolers. However, such a change in the airflow pattern through finning will also have an impact on cooling efficiency. The latter is improved in Assassin IV, for example, by a sealing shroud. White Noctua fans off the radar, 140mm (hopefully) in 2024

Noctua’s May product roadmap does not bring good news. Everything we’ve been waiting for is being pushed back. Even one indefinite delay has been dropped. But that’s so that preparations around the new generation of 140mm fans have as few “obstacles” in their way as possible. But even those, barring a miracle, won’t be available for purchase this year after all. But there is one positive news for AMD Threadripper processor owners. For proper contrast: DeepCool LT coolers now also in white

DeepCool has added two CPU liquid coolers to the LT series – a model with a 360 mm (LT720 WH) and 240 mm (LT520 WH) radiator. Their WH end designation is important, as it stands for the word “White”. This is in fact the opposite of the traditional, black variants. The design details remain virtually unchanged, and the point of these new coolers is to create alternatives for users who prefer brighter, more vibrant stuff. Endorfy Navis F360 – Third time’s the charm…

Today I would like to introduce another liquid all-in-one cooler from Endorfy. After testing the Navis F240 ARGB and Navis F280, it’s now the turn of the biggest brother of these coolers, the Navis F360. As with the other coolers in the updated Navis series, here you’ll also find the good old Endorfy Fluctus fans. And with a price tag of around 110 EUR, there is again a decent potential for an attractive price/performance/quality ratio. Read more “Endorfy Navis F360 – Third time’s the charm…” »

Enermax Aquafusion ADV 240 – Pretty liquid cooler with big noise

The Aquafusion ADV 240 is the first AIO cooler from Enermax that I have the pleasure to test. The subject of today’s review is also the interesting white design variant, which in combination with the RGB backlighting of the fans and the infinity mirror effect on the cooler block looks really premium. The price of this cooler comes out to an affordable 105 EUR, which could provide a solid price-performance ratio if it performs well in tests. Impressive top-flow cooler Jiushark: 265W TDP, priced at 40 EUR

If there’s anything missing in the relatively oversaturated range of CPU coolers, it’s a properly powerful top-flow model. The Chinese company Jiushark now brings one such cooler. Although it is not a completely original design (there already has been a similar cooler), it currently makes a rather unique impression. You will look in vain for an alternative with comparable TDP to the JF13K-Diamond cooler in its price range. Read more “Impressive top-flow cooler Jiushark: 265W TDP, priced at 40 EUR” »

Kotetsu Mark III, Scythe modernizes its mid-range CPU coolers

Neither small nor big, just Kotetsu Mark. The latest, third version of this CPU cooler comes with support for AMD AM5 and Intel LGA 1700 platforms in particular. In terms of body design, the Kotetsu Mark III sticks to the features of its predecessor in many ways, but at least one change with the new heatsink raises questions. The answers are perhaps the features of the Kaze Flex II fan, which will eventually be used in this line (of Kotetsu coolers) as well. DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark Plus – The golden middle way

At the end of this year I have prepared a review of the DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark Plus cooler. This is an interesting mid-range cooler with a modern design. The Zero Dark and Plus attributes refer to the black edition of the cooler and the second fan in the package respectively. I’m also quite interested to see how the AK400 Zero Dark Plus will fare against the Fera 5 and Fortis 5 coolers from Endorfy, with which it competes both in price and advertised TDP. BeQuiet! now has a very low-profile CPU cooler, the Pure Rock LP

A really low-profile CPU cooler. That’s the thing BeQuiet! didn’t have in its offer until now . With the 45 mm tall (or rather short) Pure Rock LP, the situation changes. Compared to many competing solutions, this cooler has the advantage of wider compatibility. Mainly, it supports the AMD AM5 platform which surprised some small top-flow coolers and took them off the compatibility list. Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black – The legend back in black

The Noctua NH-U12A is a cooler that has previously proven that with a little effort, it is possible to offer the performance of high-end dual-tower coolers in a more compact design. However, the last time I tested it, I was still using the older methodology, so with the release of the chromax.black version, there’s an ideal opportunity to conduct new tests. The question also remains whether the NF-U12A chromax.black can justify its high price tag. Read more “Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black – The legend back in black” »

Plastic vs. metal backplate Alphacool (under LGA 1700)

For rather incomprehensible reasons, the cooling performance of the vast majority of AIO liquid coolers is degraded by the use of an unsuitable backplate. The backplate is usually undersized, made of plastic, and cannot exert optimal pressure on the processor. To give you an idea of how a “traditional” plastic backplate stacks up against a proper, steel one, we’ve prepared a comparison of the two. Noctua’s current roadmap: 140mm “sterroxes” later this year

Noctua has announced a new release schedule for its products. And within it, the main question was this – Did the new generation of 140mm fans stay in the fourth quarter of 2022? It did. Given the more advanced time (towards the end of the year), it is thus likely that 140mm fans made from improved LCP from sterrox are right around the corner. Noctua also needs them for the successor to the NH-D15 cooler, which is due out just after them. Read more “Noctua’s current roadmap: 140mm “sterroxes” later this year” »

CPU coolers Deepcool AK now also available in black

Deepcool’s latest line of tower coolers (AK) kicked off a year ago with the twin-tower AK620, which was later gradually followed by the smaller AK400 and AK500 models. There are more of these “AK” coolers now and for those users who don’t like the grey fins, Deepcool has an alternative. The coolers with the Zero Dark designation will soon be available in a black coated version. Read more “CPU coolers Deepcool AK now also available in black” »
