MSI RTX 4080 16GB Suprim X: Ada Lovelace with GPU near 3 GHz

From Olympus back to ordinary mortals. Though the GeForce RTX 4080s are quite a bit weaker than the RTX 4090s, they’re also significantly more power-efficient and cheaper. And their performance still exceeds the top models of previous generations of Nvidia and AMD gaming GPUs. In addition, MSI’s most powerful model – the Suprim X – pushes the GPU clock speeds very high, while efficiency is still top-notch. Tested: 12VHPWR adapter on the RTX 4080 Suprim X won’t melt

The topic of “undersized” 12VHPWR power connectors for GeForce RTX 4090 is very popular lately. However, it will not apply to the more low-power RTX 4080 graphics cards. Before a complete analysis of MSI’s model – Suprim X – we first focused on the temperature of its 16-pin, and it must be said that everything is alright, with a large temperature headroom. Here, in short, the state of the matter will not change. Read more “Tested: 12VHPWR adapter on the RTX 4080 Suprim X won’t melt” »

Cheap and now even cheaper RTX 3050 – MSI Ventus 2X 8G OC

In addition to the global price drop on all graphics cards, MSI is now also reducing the MSRP of the RTX 3050 Ventus 2X (OC) from its lowest range. The phrase “affordable graphics card” thus takes on a new spin, and if you’ve read somewhere that the performance characteristics of Ventus graphics cards aren’t worth much, forget it. We certainly don’t see it that way, and few RTX 3050s for this money can boast a more functionally attractive design. Read more “Cheap and now even cheaper RTX 3050 – MSI Ventus 2X 8G OC” »

Radeon RX 6650 XT with AMD SAM: +6 % performance for 20 W

We didn’t make it to the release day of the Radeon RX 6000 refresh, but we’ve got them – performance tests with the Resizable BAR active. Mostly this technology is useful, but in some cases it is harmful. The test results show how AMD tunes this technology across different driver versions, optimizes it, and sometimes breaks and doesn’t fix some things for a change. However, these are outnumbered, and quite overwhelmingly, by improvements. Read more “Radeon RX 6650 XT with AMD SAM: +6 % performance for 20 W” »

FSR 2.0 is no eyesore now. AMD upscaler analysis in Deathloop

The second version of FidelityFX Super Resolution is officially released. This upscaler premiered in Deathloop, the first and so far the only supported game. We compared FSR 2.0 with FSR 1.0 in our tests, both visually and performance-wise. While FSR 1.0 couldn’t compete visually with Nvidia’s DLSS, and the result was significantly worse, AMD pulled the thorn out of its heel with FSR 2.0. A full-featured alternative is now available. Sapphire RX 6650 XT Nitro+ test: RTX 3060 falls even further behind

The Radeon RX 6650 XT replaces the RX 6600 XT in AMD’s lineup. That one beats the GeForce RTX 3060 in performance under certain circumstances, but always only narrowly. Now, after the GPU’s frequency and memory bandwidth increase, Radeon’s dominance is clear, and yet efficiency is still on AMD’s side. The non-reference Sapphire Nitro+ design is also super-quiet – the cooler is now quite a bit more robust. Read more “Sapphire RX 6650 XT Nitro+ test: RTX 3060 falls even further behind” »

Sapphire RX 6600 XT Pulse: RTX 3060 is no match in Full HD

Radeons RX 6600 XT are the most powerful graphics cards with the small AMD Navi 23 core. The Navi 22 in the RX 6700 XT is naturally better, but it still humbles the GeForce RTX 3060 with ease. However, in making this bold claim, it should be clarified that this dominance only works perfectly under certain circumstances – at lower resolutions without ray-tracing. This graphics card, in short, begs for high-speed monitor gamers with FHD resolutions. Read more “Sapphire RX 6600 XT Pulse: RTX 3060 is no match in Full HD” »

Borderline inaudible, Noctua officially on Asus RTX 3070 NE

The legitimate announcement of the Asus RTX 3070 graphics card, in which Noctua had a significant role, was hanging in the balance. This is evidenced by the premature leak of its photos last week. But we have all the details on this graphics card only now, after the press release was published. The GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition promises sovereignly the quietest operation in its performance class. Read more “Borderline inaudible, Noctua officially on Asus RTX 3070 NE” »

MS Flight Simulator July update test: More than twice the FPS

The announced update to increase performance in MFS is out, and we have a “before” and “after” comparison for you. Developers has worked to ensure that the processor does not significantly bottleneck the GPU. So far, the performance of the graphics card did not matter much, because only a fraction of its potential was used. But newly, you will achieve better performance on low-end hardware than you did before on a top-end rig. Read more “MS Flight Simulator July update test: More than twice the FPS” »

Nvidia RTX Studio – when CPU and graphics shaders won’t do

Nvidia uses the term RTX Studio for desktop or laptop PCs with a high performance GeForce RTX or Quadro RTX graphics card. In certain applications, it can significantly increase computing power (and productivity) by incorporating tensor cores which, together with the Turing architecture, joined the high-end of Nvidia’s GPU. We will demonstrate how and where this form of hardware acceleration runs in this review. Read more “Nvidia RTX Studio – when CPU and graphics shaders won’t do” »

A graphics you can buy. We’ve tested the Asus GT 1030 SL 2G BRK

Low-end graphics cards cannot be misused to mine cryptocurrencies. Their performance is too weak for that and therefore they sadly sit in warehouses. As a result, they also keep low prices. We’re talking about the GeForce GT 1030, which is the only option at a reasonable price for regular users who do not have an iGPU. We’ll see how this little graphics card performs across the tests. For whom does it make sense and for whom does it not? Read more “A graphics you can buy. We’ve tested the Asus GT 1030 SL 2G BRK” »

Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Xtreme 10G: 4-slot monster

We have something special for you! We’ve tested the largest GeForce RTX 3080, which is even equipped with its own display. Those increases and decreases in performance compared to Radeon are worth it. Read more “Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Xtreme 10G: 4-slot monster” »

AMDLSS in June? New information on the FSR technology

With GeForce RTX cards, you have the option of using DLSS upscaling, which significantly increases the frame rate as rendering runs at a reduced resolution and therefore has lower performance requirements. It’s been announced that AMD is also planning an alternative for Radeon graphics cards called FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). A claim has shown up that the release could be closer than expected, perhaps as early as next month. Read more “AMDLSS in June? New information on the FSR technology” »

Megatest Sapphire RX 6900 XT Toxic LE: AMD’s liquid cooled top-end

The Radeon RX 6900 XT Toxic LE in the company of other graphics cards will not be overlooked. The 360-millimeter liquid GPU cooling is a rare thing that will definitely attract attention. Still, it’s a rather controversial piece of hardware. There are several reasons to opt for this madness (in a good way). But it is also necessary to know about certain flaws that it has. We need to be demanding and strict in this price category. Read more “Megatest Sapphire RX 6900 XT Toxic LE: AMD’s liquid cooled top-end” »

RX 6700 XT results with SAM. How will we test GeForce?

After the entry test of the Sapphire RX 6700 XT Nitro+, the second part of the series is here, tests with active Smart Access Memory. Immediately after the launch of the card, we would write about the performance that attacks the RTX 3070. In the meantime, all GeForce RTX 30 cards started to support Resizable BAR and the situation is changing a bit. ReBAR can no longer be ignored in Nvidia’s GPUs, but we don’t have to take it too seriously. Read more “RX 6700 XT results with SAM. How will we test GeForce?” »
