Radeon RX 6600 leaked: still 8 GB, release in a month?

Last month, the cheapest Radeon graphics card with the RDNA 2 architecture, the RX 6600 XT was released with the Navi 23 GPU. But an even cheaper model could be joining it very soon: the vanilla Radeon RX 6600. Official images of the Eagle Edition graphics card have surfaced on the web, which means that presumably, the release date is getting closer. Radeon RX 6600 XT with Navi 23 revealed: specs, price, benches

Reports that AMD was to unveil a new and so far the cheapest graphics card with RDNA 2 architecture on Friday turned out to be true and AMD has announced Radeon RX 6600 XT. Full specifications has been revealed, but with a price a bit higher than what has been leaked. The card using the new Navi 23 GPU should offer higher performance and a slightly lower power draw than Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060, but for a price 15% higher. Graphics card prices fall sharply, now lowest since February

Last month we had tentative reports of possibly improving  situation in graphics card market, which is afflicted by shortages and high prices this year—largely due to the return of cryptocurrency bubble and the resulting Ethereum mining obsession. The crisis seems to really be on its way out. Prices continue to fall, in Germany they’re already at lowest levels since February. And their decline is pretty fast too. AMD GPUs will be chiplet, confirmed for 5nm Aldebaran

After Ryzen and Threadripper chiplet CPUs, AMD’s GPUs are apparently next to take this approach using several smaller chips to replace a single bigger one. AMD staff have now confirmed that the next generation of compute GPUs, likely coming next year (possibly as the first 5nm GPUs), will consist of at least two chiplets. AMDLSS in June? New information on the FSR technology

With GeForce RTX cards, you have the option of using DLSS upscaling, which significantly increases the frame rate as rendering runs at a reduced resolution and therefore has lower performance requirements. It’s been announced that AMD is also planning an alternative for Radeon graphics cards called FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). AMD Radeon RX 6800 test: More affordable “Big Navi”

The Radeon RX 6800 is the cheapest graphics card equipped with a Navi 21 graphics chip. That is naturally slower in this card than in the RX 6800 XT and RX 6900 XT, but the RX 6800 clearly offers the most attractive price/performance ratio of the three. And the power draw is also not bad, the efficiency is remarkably very decent here, despite the large, partially deactivated core. However, some flaws can be found on the AMD reference card. Radeon AI upscaling alternative to DLSS coming this spring?

Radeon graphics cards currently have one disadvantage: they do not support Nvidia’s DLSS AI upscaling technology, which significantly increases FPS in exchange for some (hopefully slight) quality loss. AMD announced development of its own alternative when RX 6000 cards lanched, but it was not clear how long it would take. AMD SAM on RX 6800 XT: up to +44% performance (and lower noise)

We still have the Smart Access Memory turned off in the standard graphics card methodology (until there is support for GeForce as well). However, for AMD owners, SAM can be very beneficial, but on average you get a plus 5%. But also lower noise, which decreases remarkably. But in some areas AMD’s exclusive technology is also damaging. Radeon RX 6700 & RX 6700 XT launch expected at end of March

Last autumn, the long-awaited new generation of graphics cards arrived, but at the start Nvidia and AMD have only released the more expensive SKUs. Now, in the winter and spring months of 2021, cheaper cards are finally supposed to arrive too. It seems that new cards belonging to the Radeon RX 6000 hierarchy should appear in about two and a half months, and both will build on the Navi 22 chip. NUC with 10nm Cannon Lake processors and Radeon GPU

Minicomputers and NUC barebones from Intel is nothing new. But this year, there will be an interesting innovation: a model with dedicated graphics card. Not in the style of high-end Hades Canyon (Kaby Lake-G with Vega GPU) of course. It’s going to be NUC with a cheaper Radeon in some classic chassis, and the price will be lower.
