Zero RPM illuminated Arctic fans are now also available in 140 mm

Arctic P14 PWM PST (A-)RGB, new 140 mm fans with RGB LED

Arctic released the P12 fans with (A)RGB first in a more widespread 120 mm format. Now, however, the range is also expanding to include 140 mm models, which should achieve higher airflow compared to the smaller variants. The Swiss manufacturer claims that the rotor is also well suited for operation on liquid cooler radiators. In addition, the P12 PWM PST (A-)RGB fans are also characterised by a passive mode.

Arctic has also released illuminated P-series fans for those interested in the larger 140mm format. The one size smaller P12 fans with (A)RGB LEDs came out in the first half of the year. The rotor shape, with five distinctly curved blades, hasn’t changed, but there’s more surface area to cover in this (140mm) format.

The maximum speed of the P14 PWM PST (A-)RGB is only 100 rpm lower and the airflow is therefore naturally higher. Arctic reports that the increase in airlflow (117.06 m3/h) is up to 41.2%. The specification also shows a higher static pressure achieved (2 mm H2O), although this is “only” by 8.1%.

Meanwhile, the noise level should be at the same or more precisely similar level of 0.3 Sone compared to the P12 PWM PST (A-)RGB. The resolution of the unit is not the highest and it is possible that the 140mm fan will end up being a bit noisier. However, for a flow unit it will probably be quieter as is usual with larger formats.

The non-illuminated P14 variant (PWM PST CO) achieves higher airflow and pressure, according to Arctic, but it does not support semi-passive rotor operation. The new P14 PWM PST (A-)RGB does not react to PWM intensities of 10% and lower and the rotor does not rotate – it is in passive mode.

The bearings used are of the FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) type, the cross section of which Arctic shows in the illustration. The motor is promised to be extremely quiet and in combination with the rubber pads in the corners, vibrations are to be suppressed to a negligible minimum.

The P12 PWM PST (A-)RGB fans use twelve RGB LEDs to completely illuminate the rotor. It should be noted here that Arctic hasn’t abandoned the analog RGB LED connection this time either, and the fans are also offered with a 4-pin 12V connector.

For owners of newer motherboards, there are 3-pin variants with a supply voltage of 5 V. These are one euro more expensive and their MSRP is 19.99 EUR. However, there’s the option to buy a three-pack (for 43.99 EUR), in which a single piece comes out significantly cheaper.

A similar offer is also available for fans with the older RGB power supply type, where three pieces can cost 39.99 EUR. Or 52,99 EUR if you also want the RGB hub and controller. All variants and packages of the P14 PWM PST (A-)RGB fans are already available to order from the Arctic e-shop. You will have to wait a few more days for our dealers to have it in stock.

New Arctic P14 Max: Anti-vibration and high speed

Those interested in 140mm fans have reason to rejoice. After the P12 Max, Arctic is also releasing the P14 Max, which is one size larger. These stick to the already established features, such as a significant speed increase, but also probably a noise reduction even at low speeds. By all accounts, these should be universal fans that will be efficient across the entire speed spectrum, and on all types of obstacles. New Liquid Freezer (III): Better contact and compressor from a plane

Arctic says that historically, it can’t recall a product receiving more user interest right out of the gate, just after release, than the Liquid Freezer III coolers. But no wonder. In addition to efficient fans, they bring several features to enhance cooling performance. The latter is not only high, but also very affordable. Arctic has put the coolers on sale with a rather large, still ongoing discount. A 360-millimeter variant for under 80 euros?
