Spring competition: trade a photo of your rig for a new motherboard

What's in the game...

The long awaited motherboards with the Intel B360 chipset for Coffee Lake processors are finally here! We managed to acquire one attractive piece from MSI for our spring competition. You can participate by sending a photo of your rig with a brief description of the cooling design in it. The most interesting configurations will be appropriately rewarded. The board is the main prize, but there are also many quality fans in the game.

Conditions

There’s no point in overdoing it, one or two photos is enough. Just make sure that your cooling system is clearly visible, add some brief description of the components and it’s done. You can mention things like the choice of the case, distributing and setting up system fans, describing the CPU and GPU coolers, airflow control mode, and so on. Here’s an example of how it can look like.

Complementary description: My case is SilentiumPC Gladius X80. Back then, it offered a combination of a solid construction, efficient dust filters, three 120mm fans that can be regulated to almost completely silent operation, and a very good price. I use two of the fans for the intake and they are fixed to 400 rpm, and the third is for the outtake (500 rpm). The CPU cooler is Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E, it provides the best cooling performance in its weight category. However, I’ve replaced the original fans (their starting speed is too fast) by one Noctua NH-A15 PWM. My overclocked Ci5-6600K (4.5 GHz) doesn’t even go above 70 °C. For my GTX 680 I use massive Prolimatech MK-26 with two NF-A14. I prefer Noctua fans because their lifespan is really long and they can run at the required low speed in range of 300 – 500 rpm. I regulate them via PWM in UEFI. The consumption of the configuration is around 400 W and everything stays properly cool all the time.

The prizes

The main prize – MSI B360 Gaming Arctic with a special polar surface finish of PCB, an additional 6-pin PCIe power supply directly on the board, and a 7-phase power supply circuit built on the SM4337NSKP. The format is ATX
3 sets of 4 identical fans. You will be able to choose from the models in the upcoming test of 120mm fans, which will be released in May.

You can send your photos with the description till 26 April 2018 to info@hwcooling.net. The subject should be “HWC Competition, spring 2018”. On the 27th of April, we will choose 6 best configurations, we will publish the photos in a standalone article, launch the public vote, and then we will announce the winners on May 15. Anyone can join. We are looking forward to see your rigs!
