140 mm next-gen Noctua fans in Q2/2024
This news won’t please anyone who was eyeing the new generation of 140mm Noctua fans in early 2024. You’ll have to wait a bit longer for that one, although the planned release delay is quite small, but don’t count on a January date. But it looks like the period in which these fans will be coming out will be a very fruitful one. In fact, the successor to the NH-D15 cooler is also said to come out in the same quarter.
It’s not the first time we’ve written this, and maybe not the last, but in any case, the long-awaited 140mm LCP fans are once again being pushed back in Noctua’s roadmap. You’ll be comforted to know at least that this isn’t a dramatic jump and is “only” a shift between quarters in the first half of 2024.
From the original first quarter, the fans have been moved to the second quarter (but the low profile 60mm fans remain). Other than this change from the October roadmap, there has been no other movement. This means that the cooler that will replace or complement the top-flow NH-L12 model in Noctua’s lineup is still penciled in for an indefinite release in 2024, as is the chromax.black variant of the 140mm LCP fans. It will probably hit stores in the second half of the year, unless it comes out alongside the beige and brown variants. But Noctua doesn’t release their stuff in both color schemes that often. Especially when it comes to key products that are expected to have strong sales.
The second quarter of 2024, however, is currently shaping up to be a very strong one, with the release of a CPU cooler that will be equipped with the new generation of 140 mm fans. This cooler has already appeared at Computex 2023 in the form of a prototype, but already an advanced, pre-final one similarly to the repeatedly delayed fans. But at least we’ve already seen them, and we’re hoping they’ll actually make it into store price lists sometime between April and June next year.
