Win a DeepCool (PX1000G) PSU for powerful builds

What’s it about and how to participate

If you are planning on building a more powerful PC with higher power draw, take a pause. In exchange for a moment of your time (to answer quick hardware questions), you can win a 1000W DeepCool power supply. That’s just enough to efficiently run an “unrestrained” Core i9-14900K CPU with a GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. You can already connect the latter with a single connector, as the PX1000G is an ATX 3.0 power supply.

What’s it about…

The main and only prize is the DeepCool PX1000G power supply with a sustained power of 1000 W. We’ve already looked at its details in preparation for tests (those will be out in December), and specifications can also be found on DeepCool’s product pages.

Disclaimer: The power supply bears minor cosmetic imperfections, scratches or worn spots on the housing. It is a sample that we are working with intensively also in terms of test work. Functionally, the power supply is otherwise in perfect condition and you will receive it in its original box with all accessories.

… and how to participate

You can enter the contest by answering simple thematic questions:

  1. In how many model lines does DeepCool sell ATX power supplies? A little hint: We’re only interested in the current ones – the ones you can find on deepcool.com via the “Power Supply Units” section.
  2. Specify the performance range in which DeepCool power supplies operate. Use the lowest and highest power output models
  3. What is the wire gauge of the 16-pin 12VHPWR connector that is a part of the PX1000G power supply? You can also find this on HWCooling.net

Please send your contest entry messages to info@hwcooling.net with the subject DeepCool PX1000G contest until Friday, December 1st 2023 (11:59 pm CET). The winner can then find themselves announced the following day (December 2, 2023) in a highlighted box below this text. Naturally in email format with hidden characters. You can enter from anywhere in the world, we can deliver the prize anywhere. There are no geographical restrictions here. So best of luck!

Who won (updated 2. 12. 2023): The contestant with the e-mail address k***l**@atlas.cz answered the questions correctly and was also lucky in the draw. We are sending a message to the winner asking them to send us details for delivery of the DeepCool PX1000G power supply. The answers to the questions were as follows:

  1. 5 or 9, we accept both answers. Although the filter includes only 5 model series (PX-G, PQ, PM, DQ, DA), there are actually 9 (PX-G, PK-D, PQ-M, PF, PM-D, DQ-M-V2L, DA, DE, DN) when you list all the power supplies. This is because some are no longer sold, but which ones they are isn’t obvious from the deepcool.com page. Therefore, in agreement with DeepCool, we thought it would be fair to accept the answers for which you adhered to the filter, as well as those arrived at after writing down all the model series while rigorously going through PSU by PSU
  2. 350–1200 W or 850 W. The DeepCool power supply with the lowest wattage is 350 W (PF350) and conversely with the highest 1200 W (PX1200G)
  3. 16 AWG or ~1.3 mm2 (we featured this information in the PX1000G details article and you would also find it printed on the individual wires of the 12VHPWR cable)

Apology to foreign participants: We’ve found that with respect to geographic location, DeepCool’s PSU offerings may appear a little differently to everyone. We had no idea about this, and several foreign competitors were affected by this error, even though they were not wrong (and everything was correct for their country). We are very sorry about this misunderstanding and we take a lesson from it for the future – we need to be more careful about these things.
