The Amirani ARGB is a larger case, the second in our office to be fitted with oversized 200mm fans. So there will be no shortage of cooler air from the surroundings, although the case has a kind of double filter and the position of the second one is quite unusual. These are truly unconventional fans. While the rotor shapes tend to vary across different models, in different materials, the XPG Hurricane design clearly stands out among the rest. They have sort of dual blades and prominent protrusions and, imagine, some sort of openings as well. Fractal Design is not slowing down in recent days and is releasing one case after another. The line has finally made its way to the more affordable Focus cases. While you’ll pay more for the Focus 2 than the Focus G (Mini), the price increase should match the higher quality standard. And these are still cases that stay under a hundred euros. Tranquillo coolers from Gelid Solutions have been very popular in the past for their solid cooling efficiency at an affordable price. Recently, the fifth revision of this cooler was launched, offering a change in overall design and featuring a matte black finish. Major news has surfaced about AMD’s upcoming RDNA 3 architecture based 5nm GPUs. These chips will form the basis of Radeon RX 7000 generation graphics cards, which will compete with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4000 GPUs. Angstronomics has published their specifications as well as chip sizes, which raise doubts whether they can have competitive performance. On the other hand, they could be relatively low-cost. In addition to “gaming” and “silent” fans, Gelid has a category for fans for cryptocurrency mining rigs. With a bit of gloating, we can note that they came perhaps a bit late. Still, high-speed fans with tremendously high airflow and static pressure are relatively few and thus will find a use. We have been getting leaked spec bits of the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 cards based on the “Lovelace” architecture for some time. But things still aren’t set in stone yet (or at least not for all models), so things are still subject to change. And that is what has now happened with the GeForce RTX 4070 SKU. In HWCooling tests, there will no longer be uninteresting fans that serve “only” to build benchmarks. We have passed this phase. According to leaks, AMD is expected to release their new desktop processors with Zen 4 architecture and 5nm manufacturing process in six weeks and will formally unveil them before the end of the month. And it seems the parameters of these CPUs are now also out. We even have them from two sources, improving the odds this info is legit. After the June announcement, it seems that Antec has everything ready to ship the Storm 120 fans going on sale. We don’t usually write two news articles about one fan, but we’re going to make an exception now. Apart from the fact that the price is already known, this one should mainly be a mid-range dark horse according to the design details. Technically the Storm 120 look really good and efficient.
