A bit bigger (XL) midi-tower… Endorfy Arx 700 Air test

The all-new Arx case range has just made its debut. The first model, the 700 Air, is also the largest case from Endorfy. This case is equipped with up to five 140mm fans, which in combination with the ventilated front panel create a great potential for really powerful or very efficient (i.e. at lower rpm per unit of airflow also super quiet) system cooling. This then naturally has a positive effect on the results. Read more “A bit bigger (XL) midi-tower… Endorfy Arx 700 Air test” »

DeepCool LT720 – Solid cooler with a gorgeous block

The LT720 cooler is the top of the range from DeepCool. It is a classic 360mm liquid all-in-one cooler that should offer an interesting price/performance ratio. At first glance, it will catch your eye with its visual design that combines simple geometry and a mirror effect with RGB backlighting. Above all, however, coolers should perform well without being too noisy. So let’s see how well the LT720 does in our tests. Read more “DeepCool LT720 – Solid cooler with a gorgeous block” »

MSI RTX 4060 Ti Gaming X Trio 8G: Extra efficient and quiet

Mid-range graphics cards with Ada Lovelace GPUs are finally here. The intergenerational speed increase is relatively lower with the RTX 4060 Ti, but the power draw has dropped significantly and the overall operating characteristics are pleasing. Especially when it comes to designs similar to the MSI Gaming X Trio with a well oversized cooler. Three fans, power draw under 170W, and gaming performance well above the Radeon RX 6650 XT. Arctic P12 PWM PST: The most famous rumbling fan

There are a lot of droning or downright rumbling fans out there, but none have been as popularized by this sound profile as the Arctic P12. Probably also because this acoustic deficiency is really pronounced here and has pushed the manufacturer to make design changes in newer models that are aimed at suppressing critical tonal peaks. But even so, the base model P12 PWM PST is a remarkable fan and is unbeatable in its price range. Read more “Arctic P12 PWM PST: The most famous rumbling fan” »

Cooler Master Mobius 120 OC: High airflow above all

With the Mobius 120 OC fan, Cooler Master could prove that it has worked on and avoided the rookie mistakes of older models. Partly yes, it removed some flaws, but it added (or strengthened) others in the process. Still, the current most expensive 120 mm CM fan has one ace up its sleeve, for which it will be extremely attractive in some use cases. Again, though, this is… how to put it… a somewhat “peculiar” execution. Read more “Cooler Master Mobius 120 OC: High airflow above all” »

Corsair AF120 RGB Elite: The lighted variety of a successful fan

We consider the Corsair AF120 Elite to be one of the most pleasant surprises of last year when it comes to fans. There wasn’t much to complain about with the simple but effective design… Someone may have missed the lighting though. The “RGB” model added this after some time. However, this is not the only change, there are more and these include, for example, higher speeds. However, the wide range (with low minimum speeds) remains. Regnum 400 ARGB – The most equipped Endorfy case in test

Through gradual evolution and refinement, Endorfy (formerly SilentiumPC) Regnum cases have progressed from the low end to the other side of the spectrum, to the peak. The “400” model with RGB lighting already costs over a hundred euros, but you don’t just pay for attractive visuals. There are up to four fans, three of which are behind a well ventilated mask. But we also came across things that can still be improved. Read more “Regnum 400 ARGB – The most equipped Endorfy case in test” »

Fractal Design Lumen S28 RGB – Cooler that shines with all colours

Today I would like to introduce you to the Lumen S28 RGB liquid all-in-one cooler from Fractal Design. This cooler attracts with its discreet and simple design, which can be easily enlivened with RGB LEDs and uses an atypical build with a pump in the radiator. So the question remains whether this solution is an effective enough alternative against conventional AIO coolers with a pump directly in the block, which of course I intend to test in today’s review. One of the fastest, Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24G

For a long time they were missing in our test database, but now we are adding them – the results of a GeForce RTX 4090. When it comes to gaming performance, graphics cards with AD102 GPUs have no competition, but it often costs an extreme 450 W. The Gigabyte Windforce cooler handles such an onslaught by a wide margin though, on top of, and now hold on to your hats, non-loud coils, somewhere on the level of the RTX 3060 (Ti). Really. Philips OLED 807 test with Play-Fi external speaker

Philips offers up to four different OLED models, and after the second highest (907), the cheaper model numbered 807 has made its way to us. However, to avoid repeating the same test over and over again, this time we’ll also focus on DTS Play-Fi technology, using the TAW6205 wireless speaker. Thanks to its WiFi connection, it has several advantages over conventional speakers. This will be discussed as well. Read more “Philips OLED 807 test with Play-Fi external speaker” »

Enermax SquA RGB White: In many ways… unusual

Apart from the all-white design, which is rare in itself, this fan also stands out from the competition in other ways. Some of these need a cautionary finger raised, others deserve praise. Often for trying to differentiate themselves and even in a rather elegant, useful way. In the mix of everything about the SquA RGB fan, one can state its unique identity, for which it may win you over. But it also doesn’t have to. Radeon power draw finally stays low with multi-monitor setups

In a multi-monitor setup, graphics cards naturally have higher power draw, and in some cases significantly so. But it seems that, at least with the RX 7900 XT (Sapphire Pulse), this is no longer the case. We know from measurements that the increase in power draw of this card is very low, several times lower than it used to be in the past in all the older models we have tested. Basically, we can say that the “problem is solved”. Read more “Radeon power draw finally stays low with multi-monitor setups” »

Sapphire RX 7900 XT Pulse: RTX 4070 Ti crushed in rasterization

While someone may find the RX 7900 XT graphics card to be the most attractive within its price range, another may see the RTX 4070 Ti in that position. And both are right, they might just disagree on priorities. Outside of ray-tracing graphics, the Radeon is even attacking the RTX 4080. Admittedly this is at the expense of, say, worse technological balance and also worse power efficiency, but if someone doesn’t appreciate GeForce’s strengths… Read more “Sapphire RX 7900 XT Pulse: RTX 4070 Ti crushed in rasterization” »

Test of coil whine across two samples of the same graphics cards

“My piece has quieter coils”. “Ours don’t whine, they’re exclusive”. Such and similar claims often appear across user testimonials on forums or (in the latter case) graphics card manufacturers. But somehow the exact supporting evidence, which we have now attempted to create, is always missing. Of course, it is impossible to form uuniversal conclusions from two samples, but at least we have something in our hands around which a serious debate can be held. Endorfy Fluctus 140 PWM: High efficiency “cheaply”, but…

A fan does not have to be expensive to achieve high airflow at reasonable noise levels. A good example of this is the 140mm Fluctus, which is very high on the price/performance charts. It is outperformed virtually only by fans with more significant shortcomings in some aspects. The Fluctus 140 PWM is not flawless either, but it is still a hot favourite in its price range for many scenarios. Read more “Endorfy Fluctus 140 PWM: High efficiency “cheaply”, but…” »
