An old-school rotor with one small aerodynamic tweak, the shortcomings of the Dynamic series of fans removed, and the addition of ARGB LED lighting. There are negatives too, but with the right application you can neatly avoid them. Overall, though, Fractal Design’s Aspects are functionally among the most feature-rich of what’s available in the current lineup of LED fans.

Results: Static pressure w/o obstacles

Explanatory note: We measure the static pressure without obstacles in two different situations – with laminarized and with turbulent intake. The results in this section reflect the first case. That is, the air intake to the rotor is laminarized by the guidance tunnel. In this setup, the fan has a larger volume of air available and the achieved static pressure values are higher. This is the optimum environment in which to measure fan parameters correctly.

Some articles become obsolete faster, others are relevant for a long time. Such, more durable ones usually do not focus on a specific product, but on a topic as a whole, with a pinch of generality. Articles like this have always been given space around here, since the beginning of HWCooling, and it probably doesn’t hurt to bring them up again. Noctua on measuring fan noise: Different angles, different results

Noise measurements are an extremely complex topic. Imagine you have ten different sound sources. The noise from each will radiate through the space in different ways, and measuring ‘which is the noisiest’ and coming up with a clear verdict on that is a really hard nut to crack. Noctua NF-A14x25r on a radiator. Tested with DIY frame

Due to the atypical spacing of the mounting holes for its format, the new Noctua NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans cannot be installed in 140mm positions as standard. You need a conversion frame for that, and one such frame was designed, made and sent to us by an HWCooling reader.
