Endorfy Vero L6 PSUs: ATX 3.1 also in cheaper, lower end

Although even the Supremo series PSUs were not expensive, it is the new Vero (L6) series that truly fulfills the Endorfy philosophy of affordability. These PSUs also feature the 16-pin 12V-2×6 connector and support the latest power standard (ATX 3.1), while being relatively inexpensive. This is partly due to a relatively lower efficiency, fixed cabling, and a simpler fan—but that’s the point. Overall, these PSUs look promising.

Endorfy has successfully expanded its lineup with the Vero L6 power supplies. These are defined primarily by their lower price and, being released now, they don’t lag behind technologically either. Their electrical characteristics are aligned with the ATX 3.1 standard, alongside which they include a cable with the 16-pin connector that now also powers Radeon cards.

All cables are fixed, non-modular, and the effort to achieve lower manufacturing costs is further underscored by the use of Stratus 120 fans. These are from the low-end segment but feature an effective geometry, which our tests also confirm with attractive results. To minimize the grill’s impact on the fan, a wire grill is used, which alters aerodynamic properties very little. This means it doesn’t reduce airflow nor does it increase noise. This only happens to a minimal extent (compared to traditional “punched” grills). A thumbs up, therefore, also in this regard.

Three performance variants of the Vero L6 power supply are available: 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W. The efficiency certification is 80 Plus Bronze or Cybenetics Silver. This minor discrepancy suggests that the electrical efficiency will likely be quite decent overall—certainly for the price category.

The retail prices start at 50 EUR for the 550-watt variant (EY7A016), the 650 W model (EY7A015) is +10 EUR, at 60 EUR, and the most expensive, rated at 750 W (EY7A017), is 70 EUR. These are the MSRPs from Endorfy.

These power supplies are suitable for low-budget, mid-performance PC builds. The cheapest 550 W variant has a “300 W” rating for its 16-pin connector, which however should not imply inferior construction; were it not for the lower total PSU output, it could technically handle 600 W, or 50 A. But this doesn’t change the fact that the target here is the lower segment, a focus reflected not only in the lower price but also in the other parameters of all Endorfy Vero L6 power supplies.
