An initiative aimed at supporting students of technical secondary schools is set to continue. The collaboration connects schools with leading tech companies to give students a clearer idea of what modern PC hardware is, what it looks like, how it works, and how it can be applied in real-world scenarios. This professional conference, which also includes the production of educational tools for schools, will take place for the second time.
We reached out through our network, contacted schools, and are now bringing something we believe is truly useful — delivering knowledge about computer hardware directly into classrooms. The project we kicked off last year is now expanding to reach even more secondary schools. These technical institutions — with their curriculum overlap in areas such as graphics cards, power supplies, and diagnostics — will find the content particularly valuable for their students.
In October 2025, we’ll organize a conference for a minimum of 70 secondary schools across Slovakia. Just like the one we did for the launch of Intel’s Arrow Lake processors, this will be filled with interaction, competitions, and hands-on activities where at the end, students from participating schools will demonstrate their skills in assembling PC systems.
Yes, the format and theme of the program could be varied, but we firmly believe in the mission of the HWCooling Techtour. So soon, we’ll be back in schools — this time in even greater numbers, thanks to the support of the team from University of Žilina. The FEIT Faculty (Department of MIKT) will be in charge of live broadcasting. The program will feature representatives from companies like Nvidia, MSI, Endorfy, HWiNFO, and Axagon, with a strong focus on technical content.
We are also grateful to the school authorities who support us and believe in the value of this effort. For the public schools involved, which are the majority, this means regional governments (VÚCs) and their education departments. This kind of cooperation is new to us, and we appreciate it deeply. It comes with a sense of responsibility, of course, but above all, we’re glad to see interest from multiple sides in fostering a culture of technical excellence. It’s a topic we’re passionate about, and more importantly, one that helps technical secondary school students broaden their horizons and develop new skills and knowledge.
One of our goals is also to provide teaching materials that help instructors in the classroom. We’re preparing educational boards that break down the components covered by the conference. These boards can be used as visual aids to help teachers better explain technical topics during lessons or practical training. This year’s boards will focus on GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards, ATX 3.1 power supplies, and PC cases…(in 2024, the focus was on motherboards and processors).
Of course, these are just the fundamentals, but they provide a solid foundation on which to build. How each teacher chooses to use them is naturally up to them. The idea is to give students a basic understanding of the components discussed in the curriculum.
While the conference itself will be closed to the public, Technical Secondary School in Martin will host the recording of the live stream. The broadcast link will be shared on HWCooling when the time comes. Our next report will come from SPŠ Stará Turá.
