Scythe Mugen 6 (Black Ed.): Does a second fan finally make sense?

I give Scythe coolers less attention here than they really deserve. Today I’d like to remedy that, so I’m bringing you a double dose of Mugen 6 and Mugen 6 Black Edition cooler tests. The only difference between these coolers other than the color scheme is the presence of a second fan in the case of the black version. Given their design, I have high expectations for efficiency and hopefully I will be satisfied with the acoustic performance as well.

Spectral analysis of noise

A spectral analysis of the noise cannot be missing either. This is a simple analysis at noise levels of 39 dBA, 45 dBA and at maximum speed of the cooler. For the analysis I use the UMIK-1 microphone from miniDPS in conjunction with True Audio’s TrueRTA application. The resolution of the analysis is 1/24 of an octave and the shape of the spectrogram is an average of 100 samples acquired over 20–30 seconds.

Test: MSI Z890 Ace (and CU9 285K) with CoreLiquid I360 cooler

What would be the results of standard motherboard tests if we used the MSI MAG CoreLiquid I360 cooler with them? Better. Specifically, lower temperatures would be achieved for the CPU cores, which would then run at higher clock speeds, which naturally means higher computing performance.     1. Unfortunately not yet, with Thermalright there is weaker communication in this direction and similarly weak (or even none) is the availability of their coolers on our market. In short, getting one’s hands on Thermalright samples is more difficult, but we would like to have them in the results database, of course.
