HWCooling Techtour ’26 is fast approaching, and we are working on teaching aids that we will permanently provide to schools. Yes, these will be flexible boards with breakdowns of a CPU, motherboard, and CPU cooler. These components will be the focus in 2026, nicely complementing the existing materials (covering a graphics card, PSU or case) that have already been hanging in schools for some time.
One of the goals of the HWCooling Techtour conference series is to provide schools with modern teaching aids in the field of computer hardware. In other words, the field that we cover as a magazine. We have partially succeeded in this during previous years, and we use the word (partially) because there is still work to be done.
In other words, some of the materials were completed last year, while others are still relatively rare when it comes to printed copies. In the sense that only a small number of schools—secondary schools—have boards featuring an analysis of a processor or motherboard. This year, the range will expand, and although the materials from 2024 (covering Intel processors and Z890 motherboards) are still current, they represent only one of the two platforms in use. AMD is still missing, but that will soon change, and school classrooms will gain both banners featuring AMD Ryzen processors and motherboards for the AM5 platform. And we also have a cooler, without which a modern processor cannot function.
The visualizations below are intentionally unreadable, because under the circumstances (and given that they are funded by the education departments of the self-governing regions), we consider it fair that they should be exclusive to schools. Even if you do not go and take a look at them there, we will document what we have available with photographs.
We are currently at the stage where the basic concept (of the boards) is complete and an approval process is underway with the companies providing feedback on technical accuracy, namely AMD (processor), Asus (motherboard), and DeepCool (CPU cooler). Since these are to be teaching aids that future generations of technology professionals will learn from, everything should be in order and technically correct.
