Guess a fan vibration variance and win anything Endorfy

What's it about and how to participate

Can you guess how big the difference in vibration can be between the “best” and “worst” piece of the inexpensive Endorfy Stratus 120 PWM fan? We’ll take a look at this in the future, and your job will be to guess as accurately as possible. As a reward, whoever comes closest to the correct answer will receive any “cooling” product from Endorfy. In the case of smaller items, the prize can also be made up of multiple items.

What’s it about…

Finally, we are getting to what we have wanted to do for a long time – to test the vibration intensity of multiple pieces of the same fan model. Based on such results, it is then possible to determine the extent to which vibration can vary from piece to piece. Naturally, for one particular fan model and the subject of the review will now be the Endorfy Stratus 120 PWM. We will test it in a number of 15 pieces in five speed modes – from the maximum 1400 rpm we will gradually decrease by 200 rpm increments down to 600 rpm.

We will discuss the reasons why we have chosen these test modes in detail later in the tests themselves. These will take place as they always do, where we use a three-axis vibrometer on a frame that is in contact with the fan under test to measure vibration. You know this, but just in case, we include a link with an analysis of the details of the whole measurement system.

…and how to participate

In our measurements, we define vibration in terms of frequency, which is expressed as a velocity in millimeters per second in each axis, from which a 3D vector is then calculated to give us the “total” vibration. These will be of interest to us now for the purposes of this contest. You’re not guessing the intensity of the vibration, you’re guessing how many percent or how many times the difference between the most and least vibrating Endorfy Stratus 120 PWM fan sample will be, regardless of speed.

Send your messages with guesses to info@hwcooling.net with the subject Endorfy Stratus 120 PWM Vibration until Thursday September 21, 2023 (11:59 PM CEST). The one of you closest to the truth will receive any product of your choice from Endorphy that has a cooling theme in some way. That means it can be an AIO liquid cooler, a tower cooler, a case, a fan or even a thermal paste for example. With cheaper products, choosing more than one piece is also possible. For example, you can write for a set of four fans and a thermal paste. But we’ll discuss that later, with the winner. 🙂

Logistics disclaimer: Anyone can participate, but there is a requirement to be delivered to a European address. So people from other continents have to find someone to forward the parcel through. We apologize for this geographical limitation.
