Arctic has expanded its fan portfolio with new P12 Pro (A-RGB) models carrying the “LN” suffix in their designation. This stands for “low-noise” and in practice mainly means that maximum speeds are capped lower than on the original (P12 Pro/A-RGB) fans. However, the aerodynamic design itself remains unchanged, with the primary difference being the motor. At the same time, these are still affordable fans.
Arctic’s “P Pro” series fans now also have lower-speed variants. Instead of the original (roughly 3000 RPM for the P12 Pro and P12 Pro A-RGB fans), the maximum is 2000 RPM. The stated lower limit is slightly different (450 vs. 600 RPM), but you will probably also slow the new Arctic P12 Pro “LN” fans down to low-noise operation. These exist in three variants. The one with the shortest name (Arctic P12 Pro LN) represents what could be considered the base model.
Then there is the PST suffix variant (Arctic P12 Pro PST LN), which is a fan with two connectors—one for connecting the fan itself and the other for an additional fan with daisy-chaining support. In practice, this allows you to connect multiple fans to a single motherboard or hub header, but be careful not to exceed the current load rating of the connector controlling the fans. And finally there is the A-RGB variant—Arctic P12 Pro A-RGB LN. Although it does not explicitly carry “PST” in its name, the pair—or more precisely quartet, if we also count the lighting connectors—of cables should still be part of the fan, just as was the case with the P12 Pro A-RGB model.
We have test results for both the P12 Pro and the P12 Pro A-RGB variants. These new lower-speed models do use a different motor (which can make some difference in generated noise), but the aerodynamic design has not changed. That is why we allow ourselves to publish one of the charts with which the behavior of the new “LN” fans will likely scale as well. If you are interested in results from other tests, for example with obstacles, you can find them grouped together according to speed ranges. All operating modes normalized to comparable noise levels (available in HWCooling tests…) will likely also be achievable with these new Arctic fans.
As for pricing: MSRP is EUR 14.50 for the P12 Pro LN, EUR 15 for the P12 Pro PST LN, and finally EUR 20.50 for the P12 Pro A-RGB LN fan. However, retail pricing is approximately half that, and substantial discounts are also available when purchasing through Arctic’s own e-store. The non-RGB fans are also available in larger five-pack bundles, while the RGB versions also come in triple packs.

Should we ask Arctic for those fan samples or not? 🙂
