The SSD cooler database is expanding once again, this time with a model that keeps critical components from overheating. The Savio AK-60 can reduce temperatures even by twenty degrees Celsius. Its design is simple, and its price is low. It’s relatively compact, so compatibility with expansion cards is broad, and you’re unlikely to complain about the build quality. This includes features like a secure mounting system.
Conclusion
If you come across a Savio AK-60 cooler in a store, you don’t have to be afraid of it. And you can buy it for your SSD without any worries. That is, if you don’t already have an SSD cooler above the corresponding M.2 slot. Coolers which are directly on motherboards often have higher cooling performance, which is usually also due to their larger size and larger heatsink surface area.
The AK-60 is a relatively small cooler, but it can still reduce SSD temperature significantly. So much so that alarming temperatures (see SSD temperatures without a cooler) become acceptable. And that’s the goal. Some other coolers may perform slightly better at a comparable price, but these differences are usually quite small and don’t play such an important role. The important thing is to avoid overheating of the SSD, which the Savio AK-60 manages to do.
The result is naturally also dependent on the nature of the system cooling, when it is undersized passive coolers generally do not achieve optimal results, unless they are specifically designed for such an environment (without fans in the case).
The Savio AK-60 is more of a cooler for “normal” use, in traditional cases, where it is also good to avoid collisions (of the SSD cooler) with expansion cards. The Savio cooler is suitably designed for this and the backplate also protects it from various negative influences. For example, from possible flexing of the SSD by the motherboard. On this point, we have to praise it. Cheaper coolers than the AK-60 often do not have a backplate anymore and can thus be subject to the aforementioned aspects around possible deformations (with worse contact with the heatsink).
Of course, one can always debate whether a similar cooler using a comparable amount of material is a bit more efficient (and this is a topic here as well). But ultimately, we have to conclude that you cannot go wrong with the Savio AK-60. This cooler works
– it significantly reduces SSD temperatures – it is easy to install and does not clash with surrounding components due to its smaller dimensions.

Nice! I expected it to do a little bit better, but at the price it’s good.
