HWCooling moderator? AI spam in comments is increasing

If you want to help the magazine, you can. With the number of various automated advertising comments increasing, we would gladly expand the team with a colleague who would moderate them. This would, of course, save us time that we can invest into articles. And it doesn’t have to be only about deleting comments. Any initiative that leads to a higher technical standard for HWC is welcome.

There are many things that could be improved on HWCooling. We try to implement some of them, but for others we simply don’t have the capacity. So if you have time and interest, we would certainly appreciate a helping hand. The primary goal is to reduce the buildup of comments that often appear to come from AI bots. This happens mainly on the international version of the magazine, but some of them slip into the SK/CZ version as well. Deleting them has become a daily routine, and the workload will likely increase. If you can find time for this activity (removing advertising comments), please let us know at info@hwcooling.net with the subject HWC moderator.

It doesn’t have to be only about removing comments that degrade the quality of discussion for readers—there are also various other improvements you might see room for. The position is, in any case, volunteer‑based, which means there is no financial compensation allocated for it, and the motivation must lie in something other than money or material reward. 🙂

The basics are therefore clear, and if reliability—specifically meeting deadlines—is added to that, then it’s exactly what we’re interested in. If you see yourself in this, get in touch and maybe we’ll come up with something together. Read more “Join the HWCooling team! We’re looking for a news report writer” »

Project cancellations: Fan encyclopedia scrapped

There are a few things we’ve previously said were in the works at HWCooling that, in the end, are unlikely to materialize. This isn’t anything dramatic, nor something we promised in a way that would harm anyone, but at least looking ahead, it’s unrealistic that we would not only complete some projects, but even have the space to properly start working on them. Let’s go through them one by one. Read more “Project cancellations: Fan encyclopedia scrapped” »

Help out by joining discussions (in comments) under articles
