This year (2026) will be a “cooling” one in terms of activities on the website. That means a broader focus (than so far) on cooling-related topics, especially fan testing. That is our plan, and you will see the reality for yourselves. In addition, there is HWCooling Techtour ’26—conferences at secondary schools, which represent a major responsibility and commitment going forward as well. What is not on our roadmap? Idleness.
If there is one thing we truly want, it is fan testing. We consider it useful, and often so do you, which is great. Creating materials that can genuinely help is exactly what we will strive for. However, to keep the magazine running (financed), we also have to cover other topics, but we believe we can balance everything so that you are satisfied and leave HWCooling pages enriched. That is the goal, the mission, or the path we will follow in 2026 as well.
A major project will also be HWCooling Techtour (’26), where we will try to bring modern knowledge related to computer hardware to „our“ (Slovak) schools. Processors, motherboards, and coolers? Yes—many schools are grateful for these things. They showed us their trust both in 2024 and in 2025. And we will seek it again in 2026. When it becomes relevant (we assume the events will again be organized in October), we will once more document everything in detail—in articles, in photographs, and on video (yes, we are again counting on a live broadcast).

I was wondering one thing regarding the fan testing. Wouldn’t it be useful to add one more (yes sorry, extra work suggestion) test using a classic case configuration. Most of the case nowadays have a filter + a grill (or mesh or similar) so I was wondering if there could be a a huge difference for certain fans. We see in your tests how they behave behind a filter or an hexagonal grill. But what would happen if both are used?
Maybe did you already answer to that question somewhere else and I missed it.

We’ve addressed various system fan tests in the past, for example in an older article. Multiple fan models tested in an in-vivo environment can then be found here. At this point, we don’t plan to add more tests of this type in the future, as based on our experience, they don’t make much sense. That said, thanks for the article suggestion! 🙂
