Although the HWCooling Techtour ‘26 conference took place in person at only two schools (in Poprad and in Martin), online viewing was arranged for the vast majority. This article is meant to give an idea of how it looked, or rather how the individual schools handled this task and joined in. We will try not only to describe it, but also to illustrate it, with a few photos that we received directly from the schools.
First of all, we want to thank everyone who lent a hand in any way. The HWCooling editorial team is convinced that it can be truly proud of many people in Slovakia. They invested their energy to make something exceptional happen.
Yes, with the text above we are alluding to the hardware conference that took place in the first third of October 2026 (a recording of it is available at this link), and to making sure there was anyone to watch it at all. Otherwise it would make no sense. From this spot, too, we express our gratitude for the trust shown, whether by the schools (with their students), the self-governing regions (as the schools’ founders) on whom we were also able to rely, or the large, presenting companies. They sent their representatives from around the world, without whom the content would be missing. And of course to all the helpers involved in the production and in the program overall. We at HWC are just the “glue” that holds things together, but the foundation is having something to put together. And there was, for which we thank you once again.
Below, you can take a look at a gallery of photos showing how the broadcast looked in the schools from their perspective.
Students participating remotely took part in online quizzes, and although these too (apart from two power outages) were accompanied by technical shortcomings, everything was ultimately completed. Even so, we have more than enough signals about “weak points.” The interpreting, however, turned out very well, we think, and that would not have been the case without the skilled university team on site, which handled these matters, among others.
Among the self-governing regions, we especially thank the Žilina, Trenčín, and Prešov regions, not only for the financial support from which we were able to produce permanent teaching aids as well (but more on those next time). We communicated with all the self-governing regions, and each helped as it could (some, for example, by passing on contacts to schools and so on). Let us be surprised by what the future brings. Some visions exist, and we will see what the reality will be.
