The GeForce RTX 5090 is NVIDIA’s most powerful GPU for gamers – and for demanding users. It maintains a significant lead over all other gaming cards, but its power-hungry nature comes with a cost. Dissipating nearly 600 watts of heat is a real challenge for engineers. Yet MSI’s premium GeForce RTX 5090 Suprim SOC handles it brilliantly: in Silent mode, it runs quieter than many air-cooled cards delivering half the performance.
The card’s massive four-slot cooler features a sturdy metallic-gray plastic shroud with black accents. Its center section is reinforced with a brushed metal plate, edged with gold trim around the fans for premium aesthetics.
The card’s side features a large backlit Suprim logo with ARGB lighting, complemented by additional lighting on the rear corner.
A simple metal backplate covers about three-quarters of the rear, revealing the massive internal reinforcement frame through its perforated section. Thermal pads beneath the backplate only contact the GPU die and power connector areas.

The large fans feature 104mm diameter impellers with 15mm height.
Weighing nearly 3kg, the card absolutely requires using the included support bracket after installation.
At 36 cm long, it will challenge compatibility with compact cases – the likelihood of interfering with front panels or fans is significantly higher than average..
The card extends over 4cm beyond its bracket width. Despite using a dual-slot bracket, it physically occupies four expansion slots.
The bracket offers the standard combination: three DisplayPort 2.1b (UHBR20) and one HDMI 2.1b connector.
Power delivery uses a single 600W 12V-2×6 connector, with visible thermal padding beneath it in the close-up view.
MSI’s distinctive yellow-pinned power adapter provides clear visual confirmation of proper seating – no yellow should remain visible when fully connected. While cable stiffness matches other manufacturers (except NVIDIA’s more flexible Founders Edition adapters), this color-coding offers unique installation feedback.
