We are adding new prizes to the recent Noctua contest: large desk mats for your mouse and keyboard. They are themed around what many of you guessed right. Yes, the brand is now 20 years old, and Noctua has printed this entire history onto its mats. Three have new owners—the first, second, and third randomly drawn winners from the August contest who answered correctly.
You may already know, or are finding out now… that Noctua has thematic NP-DM3 desk mats for its 20th anniversary. We were also looking for the answer to the question about the brand’s anniversary in the summer contest, where a desk fan was the prize. Now, not only the main winner but also the next two contestants in line who answered correctly will receive new Noctua desk mats from us. At the time of announcing the contest, we didn’t know Noctua was preparing something like this; it was a surprise for us too. A pleasant one, and we believe it will be the same for you.
The NP-DM3 mat is large (90 × 40 cm), accommodating both a mouse and a keyboard. It is also spill-resistant, at least for a short period. While Noctua doesn’t officially state this, if a liquid (coffee, perhaps?) is spilled, it is repelled momentarily, allowing for quick wiping. This also helps keep the print, which is informationally rich, clearly visible.
The “content” of the mat features a timeline tracking the past 20 years. It provides an overview of Noctua’s key products between 2005 and 2025. Excellent. Fans of the Noctua brand will enjoy looking at this while also working or gaming comfortably—whichever suits their needs, of course.
The back is rubberized, and the mat grips the surface well, preventing slippage. The overall structure is quite soft and flexible enough to lay flat and conform after unrolling. The top surface is covered with a textured fabric, and how any given mouse sensor reacts on this surface is something you can report in the comments based on your own experiences with the NP-DM3 mat.
The winners who will receive the NP-DM3 mats from us are already known. In addition to the fan winner, we randomly drew two more participants who answered the contest question correctly and believed that it has been twenty years since the first Noctua cooler was released. Do you still remember it?
