Asus TUF GeForce RTX 5060 8GB OC Review: If 8 GB Is All You Need

Nvidia kept the launch of the GeForce RTX 5060 – successor to the popular GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 series – for Computex. It wasn’t exactly quiet, but the launch was unusual – drivers enabling reviews weren’t released until Monday evening, after sales began. Likely due to backlash over the RTX 5060 still offering only 8GB of memory, four years after the 12GB RTX 3060. As a result, it’s faced a fairly cold reception.

Clocks, Temperatures & Fan Speeds – F1 24 (Q mode)

The following set of tests come from the F1 24 benchmark at 3840×2160 resolution with Ultra settings. The measurement consists of five laps on the Singapore track in wet conditions. Unlike other benchmarks, this one applies continuous load—there’s no drop in GPU usage between loops, so the card stays fully warmed up throughout.

The average clock speeds drop only slightly compared to Performance mode. The difference in performance is negligible—it’s within the margin of error. The GPU typically runs between 2790 and 2812 MHz, averaging 2798 MHz.

Monitoring again shows power draw values for the card well below the 155 W limit. The average power consumption of the entire system is just 225.5 W.

Both GPU and memory temperatures are well below what we typically see with most cards, which usually run at around 75 °C.

The fans are once again running at almost their minimum speed, even after the card has warmed up. As a reminder, the GPU is not reaching its maximum power consumption.

Based on the GPU Boost limit indicators, the card appears to be operating near the voltage limit.
