Nvidia kept the launch of the GeForce RTX 5060 – successor to the popular GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 series – for Computex. It wasn’t exactly quiet, but the launch was unusual – drivers enabling reviews weren’t released until Monday evening, after sales began. Likely due to backlash over the RTX 5060 still offering only 8GB of memory, four years after the 12GB RTX 3060. As a result, it’s faced a fairly cold reception.
Clocks, Temperatures & Fan Speeds – Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition (Q mode)
The next set of results also comes from the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition benchmark, run at Extreme settings in 3840 × 2160 resolution.
In Q mode, with the card under full load, GPU clocks are lower than in previous tests—by just under 40 MHz. However, this only translates to an unnoticeable fraction of a frame per second in performance.
The clock speed of the warmed-up GPU in this test ranges from 2670 to 2775 MHz, with an average of 2722 MHz.
According to the chart at the end of the section, the card is still limited by voltage, but the power draw readings show it was consistently running at the 155 W power limit.
The GPU temperature reached its highest point of all the tests, yet the memory stayed below a comfortable 70 °C and the GPU itself remained two degrees lower.
And even in this test, the fan speed only reaches a modest 862 RPM, with a measured noise level of 29.4 dBA—below the measuring range of the sound meter. The fans are only audible in complete silence and up close. In practice, you’re more likely to notice a faint coil whine from the power delivery circuitry than noise from the cooler itself.
