DeepCool working with wood… integrated into coolers and cases

It’s not “just” about metal components anymore. DeepCool is introducing wooden elements to its coolers and also PC cases. And DeepCool isn’t relying solely on looks – “Spartacus” is the name of a new line of liquid coolers aiming to push the limits of thermal performance. The high bar – perhaps even higher than before?– is also being set by the dual-tower Assassin VC Elite cooler.

It appears that wood may become a new trend in the materials used for manufacturing computer components – specifically cases and coolers. DeepCool has a clear stance on this, and wood will be used in both their coolers and cases. In the case of coolers, this means a wooden top fin. Naturally, this doesn’t contribute to better thermal performance, but performance is no longer the sole deciding factor for customers. Visual appeal and how well a product fits into a user’s home setup or architectural style play an increasingly important role. For such users, wood presents an attractive design material.

As for coolers, the wood touches will appear on the second generation of the AK series. According to DeepCool’s internal testing, these AK G2 coolers achieve significantly improved thermal performance, lowering temperatures by 3–5 °C. The upper range naturally corresponds to CPUs with higher heat density. The coolers will also be available in Digital variants, meaning with built-in displays.

Speaking of aesthetic cohesion, DeepCool will also be offering cases with wooden accents. Specifically, the wooden element will be a panel around the case I/O connectors. This design can be seen, for example, on the CL6600 case. The wooden front panel will also be added to the CH160 and CH170 Digital cases. DeepCool is also working on wooden stands for the CH260 and CH270 (Digital) cases.

At Computex 2025, DeepCool also showcased the Assassin VC Elite cooler. You may already be familiar with a similar DeepCool cooler from our tests – the Assassin IV VC Vision.

Heat absorption (from the CPU) in the Assassin VC Elite is managed by a vapor chamber. This component – the chamber on its own, without the rest of the cooler – was also on display, giving visitors a closer look at the technology. We will likely offer more detailed insights in our upcoming analyses. This cooler will also be available in a non-display version, allowing DeepCool to offer a more attractive price-to-performance ratio.

The new flagship of DeepCool’s liquid cooler lineup will be the “Spartacus” series. It’s safe to assume that the 420 mm radiator model will be a top performer in cooling performance. DeepCool is leveraging AI features here, which we plan to explore further once we have physical access to the units for deeper evaluation. One thing already noticeable is the increase in display size on the liquid block’s housing compared to the previous generation.

At our editorial office, we’ve also noticed that DeepCool cases are often shipped without fans. The rationale behind such configurations is to give end users the freedom to choose and install the fans they personally prefer. That said, cases like the CG530 F4 and CG530 4F do come pre-installed with fans. Ultimately, it comes down to user preference.
