For proper contrast: DeepCool LT coolers now also in white

DeepCool LT720 WH and LT520 WH

DeepCool has added two CPU liquid coolers to the LT series – a model with a 360 mm (LT720 WH) and 240 mm (LT520 WH) radiator. Their WH end designation is important, as it stands for the word “White”. This is in fact the opposite of the traditional, black variants. The design details remain virtually unchanged, and the point of these new coolers is to create alternatives for users who prefer brighter, more vibrant stuff.

DeepCool’s new AIO liquid coolers – the LT WH – come in two formats, each using 120mm fans to cool the radiator. This also means above-standard support (compared to the wider models with 140 mm fans) from a computer case perspective.

The larger, 360 mm variant (LT720 WH) includes three FK120 WH fans. The model LT520 WH has only two of them, so it will be noisier at the same cooling performance, but it’s also cheaper and has wider compatibility due to its smaller size. The overall length of the LH520 WH is 282 mm, the LT720 WH with 402 mm is exactly one fan longer. DeepCool lists the thickness of both radiators as 27 mm, together with the fan, count on a thickness or clearance towards the motherboard of around 53 mm.

Regarding the pump (in the block), DeepCool talks about its 4th generation with an improved microchannel arrangement inside the block. This is naturally with a view to optimum fluid flow through the points where the greatest heat exchange occurs. The pump speed is quoted at 3100 rpm and is driven by a three-phase torque motor.

On the outside, the block is largely characterised by a clear surface and a reflective layer that creates an impressive RGB LED spatial effect on four sides. The lighting is digital, powered by 5 V. This means it connects via a modern 3-pin connector. The tubing of the block is 410 mm in length and is braided with fabric.

The speed range of the FK120 WH fan is wide, 500–2250 rpm. For now, they are only available exclusively as part of the complete cooler, but this will change in the future and they will also be available separately. However, based on tests of the black variants (FK120), it is likely that these will also rank among the top 120mm fans in terms of efficiency. However, since the FK120 WH fans have undergone a color change, the chemical composition of the material is slightly different and different resonant frequencies can be achieved at the same speeds similar to the Corsair AF120 fans, which we have also tested in detail.

All current platforms are supported (Intel LGA 1700, 2066, AMD AM5, sTRX4) and also some of the “legacy” platforms (Intel LGA 2011/-v3, 1200, 115x, AMD AM4, sTR4), but AMD AM3 is no longer one of them. The suggested retail price for the LT720 WH is 140–145 EUR, for the LT520 it is 120–125 EUR. Availability in stores is reported from mid-May 2023.

PCCooler CPS RZ820: Against the elite, weighing over 1.8 kg

They were so emphatic about their cooler being optimized for Intel LGA 1700 processors that we had to try it out. And given that the CPS RZ820 is a “hefty chunk” of material, the reference sample selection included the kind of competitive coolers that are at the top of the tower model database. These should give the PCCooler CPS RZ820 a good run for its money. At the same time, this cooler should not be more expensive. DeepCool Assassin 4S – The stealthy tamer of high temps

A year ago, the excellent DeepCool Assassin IV cooler was tested here and eventually took our top award. Today we take a closer look at a modified version of this cooler called Assassin 4S. This variant may have lost the rear fan, but the middle one has been completely redesigned to compensate for this loss. So today’s article logically aims to find out how much of an impact this major change has on efficiency and acoustics. Read more “DeepCool Assassin 4S – The stealthy tamer of high temps” »

“Rattlegate” is unfair. Noctua NH-D15 G2 expertise begins

Practically right after its release, the long-awaited Noctua NH-D15 G2 cooler received a rattling sticker that is a bit far-fetched. We’ve also seen some escalated opinions that perhaps it’s “garbage” and here’s where we have to step in. Noctua 100% does not deserve such adjectives for its work. We have to stand up for a company that has really sacrificed a lot for development. We cannot ignore such distortions of public opinion. Read more ““Rattlegate” is unfair.
