Gigabyte Aorus RX 7900 XTX Elite 24G. If RTX 4090 is too costly…

SPECviewperf 2020 and SPECworkstation 3

The most powerful Radeon (RX 7900 XTX) is both slower and less efficient compared to the GeForce RTX 4090, but it’s also roughly 700 EUR cheaper. And that’s what gives it an unprecedented price/performance ratio for a high-end graphics card. The latter is more attractive even than the lower-end RX 7900 XT, and that’s also the case with Gigabyte’s top-of-the-range Aorus Elite, which, oddly enough, only comes at a minimal premium.

SPECviewperf 2020

Test platform benchmark; API OpenGL a DirectX; no extra settings.

Aerodynamic grille. Gigabyte innovates ATX 3.x PSUs

Gigabyte has new ATX PSUs. In regards to the Aorus Elite AEPM PG5, we can write about a higher-end PSU as they will be coming to stores with the 80 Plus Platinum efficiency certification. Meanwhile, the ATX 3.0 standard is supported, so a cable with a 16-pin connector designed for more powerful GeForce graphics cards will be included. Also notable is the sleeker-than-usual design of the grille in front of the fan. Read more “Aerodynamic grille. Gigabyte innovates ATX 3.x PSUs” »

Gigabyte B760I Aorus Pro DDR4: Small, powerful, attractively priced

In the tests, we looked at a Mini-ITX motherboard. A warning finger is usually put over this format in connection with powerful CPUs, but often unjustifiably. This would be the case even with one of the cheapest models for the LGA 1700 platform – the B760I Aorus Pro DDR4. The “cut off” is mainly things you may not need, for example because a larger number of slots not only won’t be used, but also doesn’t fit into the vision of a space-saving PC build. Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Pro X: White for Raptor Lake Refresh

We tested the first Z790 motherboard primarily designed for use with the 14th generation Intel Core (Raptor Lake) processors. The chipset’s features haven’t changed, but there’s a lot of new, noteworthy stuff around it. That includes upgraded network connectivity headed by WiFi 7 and, finally, 5-gigabit Ethernet. And in the year that it’s been at it, Gigabyte has worked on a lot of details too. Some were more successful, others less so. Read more “Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Pro X: White for Raptor Lake Refresh” »
