There is no let up in the downsizing of cases and it goes on. Now Fractal Design has worked on a simpler version of the Meshify 2 Compact, to which we gave a rare editorial award a while back. The skeleton of the case has remained the same, the materials used have not changed, but in some places, cuts have been made. And in other places, improvements have been added. The Amirani ARGB is a larger case, the second in our office to be fitted with oversized 200mm fans. Fractal Design has apparently decided to roll out all of their cases in smaller designs as well. The latest in compact designs is the Define 7 Mini, which fits a Micro ATX motherboard. Even though the dimensions have shrunk, they haven’t cut corners in other ways and this new case maintains a high quality standard. The kind of quality we are used to with Define series cases. The Pop series is a new range of cases from Fractal Design. Pop is divided into two categories, Air and Silent, and these into three size variants. We received the Pop Air case, which is the middle sized model. It is the only one in the series to offer a wide choice of colour options. Recently, Fractal Design has been introducing cases like clockwork. Today, a model from the well-established Meshify 2 series has come out. The new product is with the RGB attribute, but also noteworthy is a cut-down version with the Meshify 2 Lite (RGB) designation with a cheaper price. Velox 100Ps are some of MSI’s newest cases. In the Airflow variant (Velox 100P Airflow), it has a heavily perforated front, which is something we are interested in at HWCooling. The case is one of the more expensive midi-towers and doesn’t lack tempered glass or ARGB lighting. Naturally, though, our tests were mainly considering the design, equipment and cooling, since this Velox has the Airflow in its name. Recently, Fractal Design introduced the Torrent case, which primarily focuses on the best cooling possible. In addition to a significantly open shell, the case has up to five fans, two of which are oversized and thick. The Torrent thus operates with an extremely high air flow, even in a relatively large space. The popular Meshify C case from Fractal Design finally has a successor on the market after five years. It was introduced on this day and brings a new soul in the old body. The fact that the case has undergone significant innovations is also evidenced by the weight gain of more than one and a half kilograms. A very untraditional and relatively unique case has come to our editorial office. It is the ROG Z11, which the manufacturer introduced at the beginning of the year at CES 2020. The case hides several specialties, such as the possibility of vertical and horizontal positioning or a slightly curved motherboard tray. To make matters better, we fitted the case more or less exclusively with ROG components, thus creating a kind of full-on Asus build. You have probably heard of BeQuiet!, whose components are one of the best in the high-end category. The reworked novelty (Pure Base 500DX) of the year-old case (Pure Base 500) was introduced two months ago and finally got to our editorial office for testing. HDPLEX cases have a pretty good reputation among supporters of completely silent passive PCs.
