G-Drive Mobile Pro SSD – 3 GB/s near at hand

G-Technology may be a lesser-known brand at first glance, but when I say names like WD and SanDisk, you’re sure to know what I mean. Of the three interconnected brands, G-Drive is profiled as the premium one, aimed mainly at creators and MacOS users. Mobile Pro SSD is a new addition to the family, which will impress with its Thunderbolt 3 connection and extreme speeds well above 1 GB/s. Read more “G-Drive Mobile Pro SSD – 3 GB/s near at hand” »

Something for Asus fans: a complete ROG build in the Z11 case

A very untraditional and relatively unique case has come to our editorial office. It is the ROG Z11, which the manufacturer introduced at the beginning of the year at CES 2020. The case hides several specialties, such as the possibility of vertical and horizontal positioning or a slightly curved motherboard tray. To make matters better, we fitted the case more or less exclusively with ROG components, thus creating a kind of full-on Asus build. WD Black P50: 20-gigabit USB 3.2 gen 2×2 in action

I first saw this novelty called P50 Game Drive last September during our visit to Berlin at IFA 2019. In addition to its non-traditional design, this external SSD is particularly interesting for its unique connection. This is one of the first storage disks to use the fastest form of the USB protocol labelled as 3.2 gen 2×2 , which offers speeds of up to 20 Gbps. Until the arrival of the 4.0 standard, this is the fastest universally available USB. Read more “WD Black P50: 20-gigabit USB 3.2 gen 2×2 in action” »

MSI GS66: All black razor with Core i9 and RTX 2080 Super

GS series includes a stylish and compact family of high-performance MSI laptops and the GS66 Stealth is its latest addition. I’ve always had a weakness for thin but powerful devices and that’s exactly what GS meets. However, with the high performance of Core i9 and RTX 2080 Super, the question arises as to how thermal management is handled. In less than 2 cm thin and about 2.1 kg body, it is really a challenge to deal with such powerful components. Read more “MSI GS66: All black razor with Core i9 and RTX 2080 Super” »

WD My Passport SSD 2020 – 2nd generation of the pocket SSD

WD with the My Passport line is one of the largest manufacturers of external storage. I myself have three pieces with a capacity of 2–4 TB. In 2017, they launched the My Passport SSD, which belonged to the first generation of external SSDs. It impressed us mainly with its unique design and compact dimensions, but unfortunately it never got into my hands. However, this is now changing, as we have received an upgraded version with the same name for 2020. Read more “WD My Passport SSD 2020 – 2nd generation of the pocket SSD” »

MMN 3080 – the fastest gaming rig of all our tests

With the arrival of new generation components, we had the opportunity to build our first rig, which I named MMN 3080. It is a combination of Metallic Gear, MSI and Noctua (MMN) and the key component, the new GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card in the MSI Gaming X Trio variant. In combination with the latest Core i9-10900K processor, this is the fastest gaming rig we’ve had in our editorial office. Read more “MMN 3080 – the fastest gaming rig of all our tests” »

Monitor test of AOC U32U1: when design is priority

AOC design monitors, in collaboration with Studio F.A.Porsche, have grown by a new piece. Last tested Q27T1 attracted attention with its unconventional stand and the new U32U1 plans to continue this trend. However, it adds larger dimensions as well as resolution and wider positioning options. It also wants to show great color reproduction for graphic work and very solid port selection. But will its design be the only reason for purchase? Read more “Monitor test of AOC U32U1: when design is priority” »

Asus ZenBook 14 UX425 – probably the best ultrabook right now

At the end of June, Asus revealed refreshed ZenBooks, which immediately impressed me with their design, elegance, but also their equipment and compact dimensions. We tested the predecessor, ZenBook 14 UX431F, which looked a bit awkward and didn’t interest me much except for the price. However, the new UX425 is a completely different story. Will it dare to be the title of the best ultrabook with the 10th generation Intel Core we have tested? Read more “Asus ZenBook 14 UX425 – probably the best ultrabook right now” »

Patriot PXD – high speed in a chewing gum pack size

External SSDs are slowly but surely displacing classic USB memory sticks or external 2.5″ HDDs. They offer high speed, large storage and at the same time compact dimensions. I’ve been using Samsung’s T5 for some time now, and in the spring we also looked at SanDisk’s Portable SSD. Patriot, which collects plus points for great performance and reasonable prices in our reviews, is also coming to the market now with their PXD model. Gigabyte G32QC – budget 32″ for gaming

Gaming monitors are available in various sizes, formats and curvatures. We’ve had a few 27″ models here lately, representing the current mainstream. But what if you want something bigger, but ultrawide isn’t right for you? In that case, you’ll probably reach for a 32″ display. Would you also like a curve, a lot of Hz and various gaming features? Then you may be interested in Gigabyte G32QC. Read more “Gigabyte G32QC – budget 32″ for gaming” »

AMD Ryzen 3 3300X – when cheaper Matisse is not enough

The duel of Ryzen 3 3100 and Intel Core i3-10100 processors showed that AMD can beat Intel in most tests at a lower price. However, the R3 3100 is not the only new model introduced by the manufacturer. The 3300X is more powerful, with higher clock speed and, coincidentally, it also sells for the same price as the Ci3-10100. In addition to significantly higher clock speed, it also has different CCD composition. Read more “AMD Ryzen 3 3300X – when cheaper Matisse is not enough” »

Duel of processors: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 vs. Intel Core i3-10100

A year has passed since the introduction of AMD’s Ryzen third generation, but the product line was still not complete. We were waiting for the lowest line to be refreshed with the designation Ryzen 3. In the meantime, the 10th generation of Intel Core processors has been released, including new i3 SKUs. We got novelties from both manufacturers, namely Ryzen 3 3100 and Core i3-10100. Which one is better? Read more “Duel of processors: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 vs. Intel Core i3-10100” »

Intel Core i7-10700K: lower digit, lower price, higher performance?

In the latest Core i9-10900K test, we found it to be great for high fps games, but the power draw, price and performance are not as good as the competition, AMD, offers. Intel still maintained its lead in games, but the 10900K is definitely not an ideal processor. If games are your priority, the alternative may be the Core i7-10700K which is actually just a redesignated and slightly modified Core i9-9900K. Intel Core i9-10900K: The Last of the Mohicans

The 10th generation of Intel Core processors, called Comet Lake-S, is the latest iteration of Skylake and, unlike the mobile Ice Lake, is still 14 nm. However, this constant tuning of this manufacturing process has resulted in record frequencies that are specifically related to the most powerful processor currently in the LGA 1200 socket. Now the only question is whether this will be enough for the Ryzen 9 3900X. Read more “Intel Core i9-10900K: The Last of the Mohicans” »

Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 – untraditionally traditional notebook

You definitely know the ROG Zephyrus gaming line by Asus well, as we only recently brought you a test of the top-notch model Duo 15. The Zephyrus line started with one product, but today several models bear this tag. One of them is the M15 which, however, has little in common with the original Zephyrus. On the outside, it looks like a regular laptop without gimmicks in the form of a secondary display or the AAS. Read more “Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 – untraditionally traditional notebook” »
