The Ventus 2X OC model with 8 GB of memory is the most affordable GeForce RTX 5060 variant from MSI. It features a compact dual-slot cooler with a length of 20 cm, making it suitable even for small-form-factor cases. The cooler is slightly louder than average due to overly high fan speeds, but it has sufficient headroom for manual fan speed reduction. But with 8 GB of memory, compromises are necessary in the most demanding games.
Cyberpunk 2077, RT Medium, 3840 × 2160
The first set of measurements comes from the Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark with RT Medium settings at a resolution of 3840 × 2160. This consists of eight benchmark runs back to back. The graph always shows the final run, from which the average value for a warmed-up card is calculated.
However, the card does not have sufficient performance for such settings, so it does not heat up as much as at lower resolutions. The test itself, which should last 68 seconds, also takes about thirty seconds longer. Therefore, the following chapters also include results from a resolution of 2560 × 1440, where the load is higher and operating characteristics are slightly worse./p>
The clock speed of the warmed-up GPU ranges between 2655 and 2701 MHz, with an average of 2701 MHz.
The low load is also evident in the card’s power consumption, which does not reach the 145 W limit. Thanks to the combination with a low-power processor, total system power consumption is only 236.5 W.
The average GPU temperature reached a maximum of 72.2 °C during the measured interval, while memory reached 68 °C. GeForce cards no longer report hotspot temperature in monitoring tools.
Fan speeds approach 2000 RPM, but rise even higher under full GPU load.
The fact that the card is not power-limited is also visible in the GPU Boost limiters graph.
