MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ventus 2x OC 8 GB review: A Solid Baseline

The Ventus 2X OC model with 8 GB of memory is the most affordable GeForce RTX 5060 variant from MSI. It features a compact dual-slot cooler with a length of 20 cm, making it suitable even for small-form-factor cases. The cooler is slightly louder than average due to overly high fan speeds, but it has sufficient headroom for manual fan speed reduction. But with 8 GB of memory, compromises are necessary in the most demanding games.

Noise level, operating characteristics—Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition

The final set comes from the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition benchmark with Extreme settings at a resolution of 2560 × 1440. Since the card was already fully loaded at 4K, differences in operating characteristics are minimal; only the frame rate becomes playable at the lower resolution.

GPU clock speeds range between 2565 and 2700 MHz, with an average of 2623 MHz—slightly higher than in the previous test.

According to monitoring, the card’s power consumption again stays at the 145 W limit. Average system power consumption is around 246.2 W.

The average GPU temperature peaked at 73.6 °C, while memory reached 70 °C.

Fans reached their highest speeds of all measurements in this test, effectively around 2200 RPM. At this point, the measured noise level of 44 dBA is worse than the average typically seen in cheaper models. Once again, it’s worth noting that in terms of GPU and memory temperatures, the cooler has decent headroom, so simply lowering fan speeds via custom fan curve settings is sufficient.
