The Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact Lite RGB case test

There is no let up in the downsizing of cases and it goes on. Now Fractal Design has worked on a simpler version of the Meshify 2 Compact, to which we gave a rare editorial award a while back. The skeleton of the case has remained the same, the materials used have not changed, but in some places, cuts have been made. And in other places, improvements have been added. In our analysis we have looked at the case in the Lite RGB variant. Read more “The Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact Lite RGB case test” »

Deepcool launches the CH510 (WH). Useful cases for the masses?

Minimalist appearance, maximalist support for cooling components. In this spirit, Deepcool releases the new CH510 and CH510 WH (with white finish) computer cases. They are priced well under a hundred euros, and although they don’t stand out with any eccentric features (and the port selection is relatively modest as well), they are definitely an option to consider for mid-range builds. Modecom Volcano Amirani ARGB test: Better without protection

The Amirani ARGB is a larger case, the second in our office to be fitted with oversized 200mm fans. So there will be no shortage of cooler air from the surroundings, although the case has a kind of double filter and the position of the second one is quite unusual. And consider that the remote control is not only used to regulate the lighting as it is usually possible, but also allows for speed control. Focus 2 are Fractal Design’s new entry level cases

Fractal Design is not slowing down in recent days and is releasing one case after another. The line has finally made its way to the more affordable Focus cases. While you’ll pay more for the Focus 2 than the Focus G (Mini), the price increase should match the higher quality standard. And these are still cases that stay under a hundred euros. In the basic variant (without tempered glass, with two metal side panels and unlit fans) even way under. Read more “Focus 2 are Fractal Design’s new entry level cases” »

Fractal Design Define 7 Mini: Even the soundproof case now smaller

Fractal Design has apparently decided to roll out all of their cases in smaller designs as well. The latest in compact designs is the Define 7 Mini, which fits a Micro ATX motherboard. Even though the dimensions have shrunk, they haven’t cut corners in other ways and this new case maintains a high quality standard. The kind of quality we are used to with Define series cases. Fractal Design Pop Air (RGB) review. Dullness aside

The Pop series is a new range of cases from Fractal Design. Pop is divided into two categories, Air and Silent, and these into three size variants. We received the Pop Air case, which is the middle sized model. It is the only one in the series to offer a wide choice of colour options. The Pop Air has a perforated front panel, and cooling should be more efficient as more of the mask area is open. Read more “Fractal Design Pop Air (RGB) review. Dullness aside” »

Fractal Design Meshify 2 Lite RGB and Meshify 2 RGB review

Recently, Fractal Design has been introducing cases like clockwork. Today, a model from the well-established Meshify 2 series has come out. The new product is with the RGB attribute, but also noteworthy is a cut-down version with the Meshify 2 Lite (RGB) designation with a cheaper price. What the original version had to give up to create the Lite version, we’ll show you in a comparison of the two cases. Read more “Fractal Design Meshify 2 Lite RGB and Meshify 2 RGB review” »

Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance: Modularity first

Lian Li Lancool? Lian Li is historically known for using more aluminium than its “steel” competitors. Lancool, on the other hand, was at a time a separate brand for, say, cheaper Lian Li derivatives. But what does a “Lian Li Lancool” Mesh Performance look like? The name promises an emphasis on cooling, but the case is also characterized by the extra modularity of the individual parts. Small PCs should be cooled passively. An overview of Akasa cases

Minicomputers with UCFF motherboards are usually quite noisy and not suitable for places with higher pollution levels. However, there is a large selection of fanless solutions in the Akasa range, including waterproof designs or server rack-formatted cases. For a convenient overview across the current models, we have a comprehensive overview of alternative Akasa cases for both AMD and Intel platforms. Read more “Small PCs should be cooled passively. Three new cases from Cooler Master, HAF 500 and two MasterBoxes

The legendary HAF series of cases is getting more extensive with an upgraded model that has 200-millimeter fans, as well as adjustable graphics card cooling, for example. In addition to the main haul, Cooler Master also suddenly introduced the cheaper MasterBox 500 and MasterBox TD300 Mesh. That’s the smallest case of the trio, but even at 38 litres, it can fit two large liquid cooler radiators. Read more “Three new cases from Cooler Master, HAF 500 and two MasterBoxes” »

MSI MPG Velox 100P Airflow: Cooling in the first place?

Velox 100Ps are some of MSI’s newest cases. In the Airflow variant (Velox 100P Airflow), it has a heavily perforated front, which is something we are interested in at HWCooling. The case is one of the more expensive midi-towers and doesn’t lack tempered glass or ARGB lighting. Naturally, though, our tests were mainly considering the design, equipment and cooling, since this Velox has the Airflow in its name. Fractal Design Torrent: When other cases just don’t cut it

Recently, Fractal Design introduced the Torrent case, which primarily focuses on the best cooling possible. In addition to a significantly open shell, the case has up to five fans, two of which are oversized and thick. The Torrent thus operates with an extremely high air flow, even in a relatively large space. Therefore, it will be interesting to see in the tests how these layouts affect the temperatures and noise performance. Read more “Fractal Design Torrent: When other cases just don’t cut it” »

Most MSI cases will support USB 3.2 gen. 2×2

MSI has been intensely committed to application of the 20-gigabit standard of USB 3.2 gen. 2×2 for a long time. So far this was only in regards to the external connectors on the rear panel of motherboards with an Intel chipset. According to current information, this interface will soon be supported internally and MSI even intends to add it to the cases as well. However, this will only apply to the next generation of motherboards. Read more “Most MSI cases will support USB 3.2 gen. 2×2” »

Test of a PC case Antec P82 Silent: Silent sequel

Antec recently expanded its mini series of P82 PC cases with a model Silent. This should be a quieter alternative to the P82 Flow with priority in the best possible cooling, which will probably be worse with the Silent, but the reward could come in the form of low noise. You can see how this solution worked in the following test. We will show you the bright sides but also the cons of the P82 Silent. And not just in terms of cooling. The FD Meshify 2 Compact is out and we’ve already tested it!

The popular Meshify C case from Fractal Design finally has a successor on the market after five years. It was introduced on this day and brings a new soul in the old body. The fact that the case has undergone significant innovations is also evidenced by the weight gain of more than one and a half kilograms. The new Meshify is not heavier for no reason, also thanks to this it leaves the first generation far behind. Read more “The FD Meshify 2 Compact is out and we’ve already tested it!” »
