You wanted it, so here you have it. The Fractal Design lineup now includes the Epoch case also in an “XL” variant. Efficient Momentum fans (RGB) in 140 mm are here, and now with the Epoch XL case, support for E-ATX motherboards and overall larger components is added. The graphics card can be even longer, and a tower cooler can be even taller. There’s also more room for cable management along with several other expanded possibilities.
The larger PC case, the Epoch XL, is now on the market. The larger dimensions (503 × 240 × 509 mm with feet) affect many things, including support for truly long graphics cards up to 425 mm. Even the GeForce 5080 Noctua OC Edition doesn’t reach that length, but having some headroom simplifies the installation process. And in the Epoch XL, it will go smoothly.
Alongside a long graphics card, a wider E-ATX format motherboard (with a width of 275 mm) can also be accommodated. New (compared to the Epoch variant) is also support for 360 mm radiators for liquid coolers. Two can be installed, one at the front and one at the rear. The tower cooler height clearance is 176 mm. At least according to the official Fractal Design materials. It’s possible that here too, some headroom is factored in, i.e., distance from the side panel. This panel is either in the form of tempered glass (Epoch XL TG and Epoch RGB XL) or steel (Epoch XL Solid).
On the right, between the side panel and the tray holding the motherboard, FD lists a cable management space of 37 mm. There are positions for up to seven fans (in the case of 120mm) or six fans (140mm).
The MSRPs for the Epoch XL cases are 120 EUR for the Epoch XL White TG Clear tint, Epoch XL Black TG Light tint, and Epoch XL Black Solid variants; or 140 EUR if you’re interested in the cases (Epoch XL White TG RGB Clear tint and Epoch XL Black TG RGB Light tint) with pre-installed lit fans. The Fractal Design Epoch XL cases are already on their way to retailers.
We already have a sample of the case in the test lab, so it will also appear in a detailed analysis.
