Prime GeForce RTX 5070 from Asus is a solid base for further tuning. We’ll test the options GPU Boost offers. We’ll measure how core and memory frequencies affect performance. We’ll also look at how the power limit influences the card’s behavior and how fan speed affects temperatures and clocks. Finally, we’ll add tips on lowering power draw while keeping performance, or boosting performance at similar power draw.
Power limit
Before each set of measurements, the card is warmed up with three passes. Each setting is tested twice, partly because PresentMon from HWiNFO occasionally fails to detect the launch of Cyberpunk and doesn’t log frame rates.
Each value should be displayed on an interactive graph. Hovering over it will highlight the specific measurement along with the corresponding average, minimum, and maximum values reported by the monitoring tool. If for some reason the graph doesn’t work, the individual measurements are available as collapsible images below it.
In the first set of tests, we’ll examine how changing the power limit affects performance. We’ll go through the entire range from 70% to +20% in 5% increments.
