The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 Ti AERO OC 16G targets gamers moving away from flashy RGB setups and pitch-black components, opting instead for an all-white aesthetic. Its elegant design and massive cooler take it clear that it’s built for demanding gamers who want more than just the best price-to-performance. Beyond its unconventional look, it also delivers slightly higher performance thanks to factory overclocking and excellent operational characteristics.
Closing summary
YouTubers in the US are upset because there are very few base models available for pre-order in the United States for 750 USD (23 399 CZK or 879 EUR) and most of them cost between 850 and 999 USD before tax (25 600–30 000 CZK or 1000–1180 EUR). In our local stores, there are three types of cards—the first are unavailable and don’t have a displayed price, the next have a price but are also unavailable, and then there are available cards that cost ten thousand more than the MSRP of 22,399 CZK.
Given the current market situation, the new cards offer performance similar to the RTX 4080 at a price comparable to the RTX 4080 Super. With their arrival, the market in this segment has practically remained unchanged. Under these circumstances, the only significant added value of the RTX 5070 Ti is its support for the new technologies introduced with the Blackwell architecture.
Analyzing the price-to-performance ratio of the Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti Aero OC 16G under the current conditions doesn’t make much sense. It isn’t and won’t be as advantageous as it should be compared to older cards until the availability of graphics cards improves.
The only thing that can be said is that if you’re not specifically looking for a card in a white design, the RTX 5070 Ti Gaming OC version should offer nearly the same features for a couple of bucks less. However, when prices are inflated by several hundred euros or thousands of crowns, it will depend more on how much each store marks up each model.
Although the card should be positioned somewhere in the mid-range in terms of price, it offers operating characteristics that even a premium model wouldn’t need to be ashamed of. It’s not that you can’t find cards that are quieter, cooler, or slightly more powerful, but the difference isn’t significant enough for most people to justify spending hundreds more on a card with an even larger and more expensive cooler.
As is typical for cards with dual BIOS, the only reason to switch to the “higher-performance” BIOS is for lower card temperatures. Theoretically, this could extend its lifespan. In practice, however, the card will be noticeably louder, and the already modest temperatures will drop by a few more degrees. The chip’s clock speeds will increase so minimally that the performance gain will be in the range of fractions of a frame per second. This is barely measurable when comparing average frame rates, and you won’t be able to perceive it with your senses.
I therefore recommend switching to the silent BIOS. In this mode, the card isn’t completely silent, but it will very likely be quieter than the other fans in your computer. Only in setups with a CPU cooled by a 360mm AiO cooler might the card’s fan noise become noticeable, but even in such cases, you can slightly reduce the fan speeds to make the card quieter.
Subjectively, the coil whine is slightly quieter than on the MSI RTX 5070 Ti Vanguard from the previous review, but it can still be heard at times. At lower fan speeds, the chirping of the coils overlaps with the noise of the cooler—sometimes the fans are more audible, other times the coils. Under normal circumstances, where the RTX 5070 Ti AERO should be a hundred dollars or so cheaper than premium models, I’d say most people wouldn’t find it worth spending extra on the more expensive variants.
Pros and cons
+ Extremely powerful cooler
+ Solid increase in performance compared to RTX 4070 Ti and 4070 Ti Super
+ 16 GB of memory, as in RTX 5080, retained
+ Reserves for overclocking, for the cooler and the power limit
+ Dual BIOS
+ Accessories include a mounting kit for fixing to a case
– Price premium over base models
– Current price comparable to OC models of RTX 4080 Super
– Equivalent to RTX 4080 performance-wise, only added value is support for new technologies
– Price/performance ratio
