If black PC builds bore you, you’ll be pleased that the selection of white components is growing. Gigabyte has newly added Radeon RX 9060 XT and RX 9070 XT Gaming OC models in an Ice variant. Their core specs and features match the classic Gaming OC models; the less traditional look combines a white shroud with grey and silver accents. And since they rank among the most affordable models, they’re among the best-value white cards.
Fan behavior, noise level
Fan speeds can be set in the range of 20–100%. This corresponds to fan speeds ranging from approximately 730–4460 RPM (28.8–59.3 dBA). Even at minimum speeds, the fans weren’t perfectly silent but emitted a slight whirring, though you’d only hear that at night with your ear right against the card.
Even though their speeds under load are relatively high, values around 2100 RPM correspond to just 42% of their maximum capable speed, placing us in the lower part of the adjustable range.
The noise level corresponds to this being a more compact, budget model. In operation, the card is quieter than the average noisy card, but it can’t be called outright silent. Speeds of 2090–2120 RPM correspond to a measured noise level of 37.2–37.3 dBA.
Cyberpunk 2077, RT Medium, 3840 × 2160
The first set of measurements is from the Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark with RT Medium settings at 3840 × 2160 resolution. This consists of eight consecutive benchmark runs. The graph always shows the last run, from which the average value for the warmed-up card is calculated. The frame rate with these settings is quite low, but the power draw sits at 182 W, corresponding to full GPU load at the power limit.
The clock speed of the warmed-up GPU ranges between 2854 and 3038 MHz with an average of 2937 MHz. The average clock speed differs by about 10 MHz compared to the original Gaming OC tested in June.
The card’s power draw according to monitoring (light green data series) stayed right at the 182 W power limit.
The entire system had an average power draw of only 291 W.
The average GPU temperature reached a maximum of 62 °C in the measured segment, with the memory at 84 °C. The hotspot reached 84 °C.
The fans run at a maximum of roughly 2120 RPM.
