The GeForce RTX 5080 Suprim SOC features a vapor chamber cooler just as massive as the one found on the 600W RTX 5090 Suprim SOC. With this extra cooling capacity, the fans on the more efficient RTX 5080 can run at lower speeds, resulting in excellent thermals and minimal noise. However, this high-end cooling solution also drives up the price—you’re paying a premium for one of the best factory-overclocked RTX 5080 cards available.
The final set comes from the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition benchmark at Extreme settings and 3840 × 2160 resolution with the Silent BIOS. In this test, the GPU is no longer fully loaded throughout the entire run.
The performance difference is again just tenths of a frame per second
The average GPU clock hovered around 2812 MHz, also a virtually insignificant difference.
The consumption data shows a drop in GPU load towards the end of each test loop.
GPU temperatures are about 4 °C higher, and memory temps show a similar trend most of the time.
What’s interesting with fan speeds is that during the first and partially the second loop – while the chip was still relatively cool – the cooler remained at inaudible speeds. Once the chip warmed up, fan speeds jumped directly to normal operating levels.

What are the standout features of the MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Suprim SOC?
From my point of view, it’s the cooler with its top-notch efficiency. 🙂
