The Radeon RX 7900 XTX Gaming OC from Gigabyte is among the more affordable models which are rarely reviewed. Manufacturers lower production costs mainly by reducing the size of the heatsink. As a result, these cards don’t perform as well as premium high-end models in thermal and acoustic tests. However, their lower price makes them popular not only with individual buyers but also OEMs assembling prebuilt PCs.
The next tests are from the F1 24 benchmark at 3840 × 2160 pixels with the Ultra setting. With this setting, the GPU is loaded almost to the limit. This is a five-lap benchmark on the Singapore map in wet conditions. Compared to the benchmark tests, it is a continuous load and the card does not cool down while starting a new loop.
The frame rate hovers around 46.9 fps.
The difference in GPU clock speed is more noticeable than in short benchmark loops, as the chip heats up to higher temperatures. In OC mode, it reaches 2,688 MHz, while in silent mode, it runs at 2,673 MHz. However, this slight difference has such a negligible impact on performance that it’s hardly worth mentioning.
In terms of power consumption, the card again stays permanently at the power limit.
The hotspot temperature shows a spike, which is also reflected in the fan speeds.
The fan performance again matches the hotspot temperatures. However, they are more stable and do not fluctuate as much when the chip is constantly loaded to its full capacity.
