A few weeks ago, I tested the classic black version of the Asus Prime GeForce RTX 5070. It stood out for its combination of very good thermals and acoustics and an attractive price. However, one of the fans was lower quality, making the card noisier than it should have been. I decided to retest it with the white version. The good news is that the fan issue didn’t recur. As for overall noise levels, though, there’s still not much improvement.

On GeForce cards, you can also enable the generally superior DLSS, which reconstructs images using AI from lower-sample frames through super resolution. For RT Ultra, we use DLAA and the Balanced mode; for RT Overdrive with path tracing, both DLAA and DLSS in Performance mode are used. GeForce RTX 40 cards support generation of an intermediate frame, and the RTX 50 series is also tested in Multi Frame Generation x4 mode, which inserts three generated frames between two rendered ones, increasing frame rates several-fold.
