Multiple fans connected to a single header may exceed the capabilities of your motherboard (or potentially a fan hub). This is due to a higher current draw than the maximum rating. We’ll analyze when and under what circumstances you should be cautious in this article. The threat of permanent device damage is quite real, but it’s fairly simple to safely prevent it. So, let’s take a look at it. Read more “Beware: 1 A fan headers can be too weak”

Extra room from Fractal Design: Epoch XL cases released
You wanted it, so here you have it. The Fractal Design lineup now includes the Epoch case also in an “XL” variant. Efficient Momentum fans (RGB) in 140 mm are here, and now with the Epoch XL case, support for E-ATX motherboards and overall larger components is added. The graphics card can be even longer, and a tower cooler can be even taller. There’s also more room for cable management along with several other expanded possibilities. Endorfy Vero L6 PSUs: ATX 3.1 also in cheaper, lower end
Although even the Supremo series PSUs were not expensive, it is the new Vero (L6) series that truly fulfills the Endorfy philosophy of affordability. These PSUs also feature the 16-pin 12V-2×6 connector and support the latest power standard (ATX 3.1), while being relatively inexpensive. This is partly due to a relatively lower efficiency, fixed cabling, and a simpler fan—but that’s the point. Overall, these PSUs look promising. 1.8nm Intel Panther Lake CPUs in January. Launching at CES
Intel unveiled the Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake” CPUs last month, the new generation of chiplet-based mobile CPUs, also debuting the company’s 1.8nm process. Intel missed the back-to-school or autumn windows it preferred to launch the new generations in the past, with only a paper unveiling happening in October that didn’t even specify a release date. And only now do we finally have information on when they will actually hit the market. Read more “1.8nm Intel Panther Lake CPUs in January. Launching at CES”
New GPUs Delayed Due to AI: RTX 5000 Super Not Until Q3 2026
This year’s AI boom—or bubble—has caused shortages of NAND flash, SSDs, DRAM, and even memory for graphics cards. Price rising is reportedly even accelerating. It seems this situation could also disrupt the gaming graphics card market. Throughout this year, reports piled up suggesting Nvidia would likely release an updated GeForce RTX 5000 Super series next year with larger memory capacities, but this plan may have fallen through. AMD reveals GPU and APU plans: RDNA 5 and Zen 6-based Medusa
At AMD’s Financial Analyst Day conference, the company presented its long-term financial model, strategy, and related matters. More importantly, the roadmaps, i.e., plans for future products, were unveiled as part of the event. We already wrote about the CPU roadmap, which for the first time featured the Zen 7 core. Alongside it, the company also showed a plan for new Radeon GPU architectures and Ryzen mobile processors. Read more “AMD reveals GPU and APU plans: RDNA 5 and Zen 6-based Medusa”

An SFF fan? Endorfy Zephyr 92 is now available, for 4 EUR
They are in the minority, but when a fan larger than 92 mm doesn’t fit in your case, it’s great to have an option like the Zephyr 92. This smaller, budget-friendly fan from Endorfy is primarily aimed at smaller PC cases and builds where, alongside compact dimensions, a potentially lower price is also a consideration. The new Zephyr 92 fans are characterized by their accessibility in this regard as well. Read more “An SFF fan? Endorfy Zephyr 92 is now available, for 4 EUR”
BeQuiet! Riddle (11/2025). Can you guess what’s in the photo?
In cooperation with BeQuiet!, we have prepared a cyclical activity for this year, which may be of interest to HWCooling readers. We’ll post a detail of some piece of hardware and you can guess what it is. You can compete (and eventually win something) on a regular basis, with a new challenge every month. But for now, you need to get “to the next round” through the next one, in November. Read more “BeQuiet! Riddle (11/2025). Can you guess what’s in the photo?”
DeepCool AK Coolers in Second Generation: Wood or Display?
The well-established coolers from the AK series are gaining new features. These are primarily a wooden top cover or displays located on the top of these CPU coolers. And there is a whole range of AK G2 coolers, from narrower single-tower models up to dual-tower ones. Lower price, better compatibility (typically with RAM), but lower cooling performance OR higher price, worse compatibility, and higher TDP. This comes with different “roof” variants. Smaller Endorfy Arx 500 case with ARGB now also in white
The Arx 500 ARGB case is now also available in a white version. Compared to the “700” series (Arx 700 ARGB), it is shorter, has a smaller footprint, which also means narrower support for graphics cards. However, the requirement for shorter cards may not concern you at all, because you are still under the limit of what fits either way. For liquid cooling, the Arx 500 (White) case still supports large setups with 360-millimeter radiators. Read more “Smaller Endorfy Arx 500 case with ARGB now also in white”
OCCT V15 adds graphics cards coil whine detection feature
Gamers are likely familiar with so-called coil whine, an unpleasant phenomenon where your graphics card emits tweeting sounds under some loads. It’s especially bothersome with quiet cooling, in which case these sounds—caused by vibrating coils in the VRMs—can get downright grating. OCCT now offers a way to test your graphics card for coil whine, which could be useful when analysing if a PSU replacement might help you, for example. Budget gaming CPU for AM5: AMD preparing Ryzen 5 7500X3D
AMD isn’t preparing just new high-end “X3D” gaming processors with Zen 5 architecture; cheaper alternatives could launch alongside them. According to a leak, the company could release a budget gaming processor with 3D V-Cache utilizing older Zen 4 cores. This model would be similar in nature to the popular Ryzen 7 5700X3D or the recent 5500X3D model, but using the current AM5 platform instead of AM4, which is now a dead end. Intel Nova Lake w/o AVX10 and APX? No mention in documents
We previously reported that Intel’s code in the openDNN project hinted at Intel Core Ultra 400 processors codenamed Nova Lake supporting the AVX10 and AVX-512 instructions for the first time—the modern 512-bit SIMD extension useful for AI, multimedia, and demanding computations. Simultaneously, the cores of these CPUs were supposed to gain the APX extension. However, information from Intel has now cast doubt on both. Read more “Intel Nova Lake w/o AVX10 and APX?
