The 8GB model of GeForce RTX 5060 Ti has faced heavy criticism. Nvidia reportedly even tried to prevent reviews. Not much has been happening in the realm of the cheapest graphics cards. The last newcomer was the GeForce RTX 3050 6GB, which did represent a significant step back in performance compared to the original version, but it was also a 70W card not requiring auxiliary power. Last week, the specs for the Radeon RX 9060 XT leaked – a card that will likely be AMD’s main competition for Nvidia’s freshly launched GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 and is expected to go on sale in early June. But in the meantime, AMD may release another graphics card – the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, which could fill the gap just below the RX 9070. And the specs for this card have now also been leaked. When the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT launched, AMD confirmed Radeon RX 9060 XT coming in the second quarter. That card is expected to use the Navi 44 chip with just 128-bit bus and 2048 shaders, leaving a large gap between it and the Radeon RX 9070. Lack of a 192-bit card also means no graphics that could offer an affordable option thanks to 12GB VRAM. It seems there’s a new SKU coming to fill this gap – the Radeon RX 9070 GRE.
