The prices of the top-tier GeForce RTX 5090 cards are extremely high, so for most gamers, the GeForce RTX 5080 is likely the fastest graphics card they’re seriously considering. With no real alternatives nearby, the price range for the RTX 5080 varies widely. Premium models are pricey, and if you want more than a budget model, you’ll likely end up with a card like the TUF GeForce RTX 5080. Apparently, it should’ve been cheaper, but it’s still a safe bet. Just before Computex, Intel hinted a more powerful gaming graphics card from the “Battlemage” Arc line may be coming, possibly the B770 model or maybe the B780. The company only presented Arc Pro GPUs for AI applications, still using the smaller die from the Arc B580 card, at the show itself, however. But that doesn’t mean earlier rumors were false. Gigabyte offers four Radeon RX 9060 XT models in its Gaming series. We’ll take a look at the top one – the 16GB Gaming OC model with factory overclocking. It features a Windforce cooler with three fans and delivers a step above the basics in both cooling and noise levels. It’s priced right in the middle compared to other models, and the same goes for its features – it may not match premium cards, but it’s clear that Gigabyte didn’t cut corners to save costs. The information embargo on Radeon RX 9060 XT test results has been lifted. Let’s take a look at how the new Radeon stacks up against the competing GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti. The 16GB variant is priced closer to Nvidia’s 8GB models and offers a better price-to-performance ratio than the 16GB RTX 5060 Ti. MSI’s Gaming series cards no longer sit at the top of the company’s lineup—they’ve now moved into the mid-range segment. Still, they offer an excellent mix of features and performance. We have a colleague attending Taiwan’s Computex trade show, one of the highlights of the PC and hardware calendar, where manufacturers showcase their biggest innovations. We visited Asus, and we picked out a some interesting highlights the company is presenting. Asus, too, showcased motherboards with hidden connectors, along with one improvement that addresses the issue of GPU power cables. There was also a hub for wireless fan control. At Computex 2025, we visited Gigabyte – one of the top manufacturers of graphics cards, motherboards, and other gear, including laptops. This year, the company focused strongly on laptops, but it also showcased other highlights, like a PC that is the closest thing to a fully Nvidia-powered computer today, with the GB10 processor. Nvidia kept the launch of the GeForce RTX 5060 – successor to the popular GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 series – for Computex. It wasn’t exactly quiet, but the launch was unusual – drivers enabling reviews weren’t released until Monday evening, after sales began. Likely due to backlash over the RTX 5060 still offering only 8GB of memory, four years after the 12GB RTX 3060. As a result, it’s faced a fairly cold reception. You may have already heard that MSI is planning a new generation of the iconic Twin FROZR coolers, but another classic cooler design from even earlier times also makes a return. Thanks to the lower power consumption of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and the use of more compact printed circuit boards in the new GeForce RTX 50 series, Gigabyte offers cards with a unique design in the WindForce 2X and Eagle model lines. Their PCB extends only halfway along the PCIe slot. This allows the use of a compact dual-fan cooler with an unobstructed heatsink behind the rear fan, which delivers excellent cooling performance for its size. Two weeks ago, we published an article about issues with PCIe 5.0 slot speeds on newer graphics cards in certain motherboards. After powering on the PC, the slot often failed to initialize correctly, causing graphics cards to start with fewer active lanes than expected. With the new GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, the card was booting in PCIe 5.0 x1 or x2 mode nearly every other time. Gigabyte investigated the issue and addressed it with the F5a BIOS update. The Prime GeForce RTX 5070 12GB OC Edition is one of the most affordable options currently available.
